@Pratik Gautam I had 266 (139+127) last year Paper 2 I've done marginally better than last year but paper 1 is not as good as the last one Let's see how marking happens But according to me my prep level was the same or better than last year but I found paper 1 level significantly tougher with a few vague questions too.
I hope atleast someone breaches the 300 mark barrier this time to keep our faith in this opptional alive @Etat thanks dada for ur views ..hope u do really well

Did you make it to the final list bro? I think its highly unlikely that someone will cross 300,I hope you do.But this year there will be much less variance unlike the last year. The average marks of selected candidates was in 240s last year and there were very few selected candidates with ms 15 something. Non selected ones scored even less.
I too found paper 1 a little tougher this time. The space given for compulsory questions was only one page and I had difficulty fitting answers in that space. I was better prepared for paper 2 this time compared to 2014, and the questions were quite good too. The way they alloted marks to each part and sub-part of the question suggests to me that paper 2 is going to have very objective marking and would be very high scoring. Hoping for the best! Good luck everyone
@Etat@misfit_doc i agree... Even i fared better in ms thd tear as compared to last year... Bt also i thnk ths year some topics were unconventional like stomach n all in anat whr mostly joints have been asked earlier... So i thnk that part was tricky.. Lets hope for the best..
I have attempted Med Sci in 2014 and 2015. score in 2014 was 214. I rate the paper on following lines- 1.Paper 1 was tougher and paper 2 was more clinical, a favour to the working lot (like me) 2. Marking is always liberal in med sci and you always score more than of your presumed score if you have attempted in the line of question(as we know clinical cases cant be answered fully). Hence I feel senior players have a verge . 3. 300 plus figure is possible this time..assume its me only, hahah.I have been told about the difficulty level of other optional papers...all are talking about increased level of vagueness and difficulty.here again we have a relative advantage as our answer carry SOMETHING relevant to the question. 4. rest all rests with the UPSC...best of luck.. AND Thanks for the person who has created this thread........
My opinion for those who preparing for both pg n upsc ; both are too competitive exams with diff demands so its better to conc on any one coz its more common to end with avg performancd in both unless one is a genius n avg scores r useless in both . Cant think to get 300+ , but 280's are possible ; given the time constraints n the subquestions in each answers .
