Yaar Maine toh jhuth bol diya ..mere Papa mummy Baut dukhi ho jate hain.. Last time toh ghar me aisa mahol ho gya jaise someone died ab mai apne aap se nafrat karne laga hu...2 saal ho gaye ye pre hi nhi nikalta ..kya main dreaming of IAS...this is the mostest saddest phase of my life...ab pata bhi nhi kya karu..kaha jau..or ye sab kab tak chalta ragega..even I don't know why m writing here ...anyway Let me cry more till I will tired of crying
bhai.........believe me same family situation as you have, they can not listen my failure............ for the time being it's good that you told lie. but if you will not share your feelings with parents then you can not reduce your stress level ,will be in solitude & without confidence and can not concentrate on your study. lets the other world fuck but moral support and affection from mummy papa is must. at diwaali go home, and expose your lie at least with your mother and believe me(100 %) she will hug you. it has happened with me on 24th aug, when i reached my home after exam. apart from this, from time to time, tell your parents that upsc is about uncertainty, don't expect from me high, what can i do my 100% but can not guarantee my selection. this will create a tolerance capacity in your parents as well. why to cry? it's not end of life or vaise bhi khell abhi khatm kahan hua hai mere dost. forget everything, watch movies, make jokes, follow your hobbies which will make you happy again........keep smiling my friend............
Very wise advice . @Bluestar , Please consider it .
For me its not over untill i win. Have one more attempt. And I BELIEVE i will make it this time . Have FAITH in urself guys. Work with conviction. Work with single minded focus .
For all the young guys (less than 25) who couldn't make it to the mains , let me epitomise my story .... Since my college days , I always aspired to be an IAS . But having dropped an year for the preparation after 12th , getting placed in the 3rd itself and carrying some expectations at home to earn , I momentarily left the idea and worked in an IT firm.It has been 8 years there in which I spent 3 years at onsite , got my sister married , bought an house , got kicked by the love of my life ( I could never forget her ) . Now by Gods grace I got a chance to fulfill my dream and this time at the age of 31 , I cracked the prelims . I may miss out the train to the interview but I will try to give my best . So my younger brothers, if finance and responsibilities hampers your chances ,try couple of time , if failed then go get some job , work for few years ( not that much that I did ) and then come up with full vigour to rule the world. Don't loose heart and ATB guys
Woah... 2 days since the results are out and you are thinking of having a gf as a relief??? Hehehe... I dont think that when ppl say ''come on yaar... dont loose heart...find a gf... get a life"I dont think they are prescribing any medicines to get out of your despair... That sounds just like a cliche.. Still I hope some desperate (girl) soul might be in same situation as you are and might reciprocate your feelings...Still that is a long shot,I guess. No hard feelings please. You should be spending time with your good friends for a while, then once things cool down, get back into the battle.. win the battle then think about a gf All the best
Kaash koi gf aajaye life mein..after recent debacle I feel low...is it good idea to do this? People say one should learn and explore new things in life..ofcourse continue preparing for upsc...batao aap log..banana chahiye gf? If yes, kaha sey shuru karu? It is not easy to have a gf, first a girl should like you. In my case, I think girls don't give a damn...lol...cuz I am so shy and don't speak much with anyone forget girls.
shyness is not unusual .. get clear about your feelings for a girl....dont treat them as an object fulfill ur needs..rather respect her needs to.. talk ...show confidence( not overconfidence or blabbermouth ur achievements) get real but decent though..
wear tidy dress and behave gently..
sounds cliche and tough..but if u want then these are few...otherwise entire kamasutra would fall short to understand a woman
I have not cleared the Prelims 2015. I wrote two mains in 2013 and 2014. I might be able to get through in those attempts because of my CSAT scores 2013 ( 165) and 2014 (138). But I am feeling very low now and I think that I am not that good in GS to be able to score 120-130 in Prelims Gs ( Expected GS 2015 score 104). I want to join a good coaching for GS for my last attempt (4th )in 2016. But the dates for both Vajiram and Sriram are over. Can I take admission now after the Commencement of classes? Is there any one who has any info regarding this?
I have been a member here since a year, although had to make another account to write down my story. The only purpose of this story is to request all of you to understand that despite all the setbacks that one may face, one must never quit. Coming to me, I was a Gentleman Cadet at one of the pre-commissioning academies of the Indian Army. Just a few months before commissioning, I felt severe pain in my back which later turned out to be a spinal problem. I was made to reappear in front of Medical Board which did not consider me fit to be an Officer in the Army and there ended a childhood dream of becoming a soldier in the Army. I was shattered to say the least if I were to describe what I went through. However, I had a choice: either to cry about it for rest of my life or to reconsider my priorities and move on with my life. I chose the latter and decided to write CSE because at the end of the day, it was about making our country a better place to live. Did my share of hard work and appeared this year but didn't pass. There is one thing amongst many that I had learnt in the Academy which is winning is a conscious decision that we make to ourselves every single day and in order to achieve whatever little targets that we make, the only thing we require is a positive mind. I can give you hundred examples of mind taking over body but the best I can explain it is in the words of Rudyard Kipling, whose poem If had been our guiding light in the Academy - "If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone; And so hold on when there is nothing in you, Except the will which says to them, Hold On." Friends, I have failed this Prelims too and had felt very bad about it. But it doesn't end there, I had taken it as just another failure that I'd faced in past and have chosen to win and I'm sure I will, sooner or later (God willing). Please believe in yourself and don't let any outside influence shake your confidence, don't let any fear creep in your mind. Believe that you can do and you will. Make a choice, set a goal and respect it. You can't wander aimlessly around and still expect something.
So, for all of us who have attempts left and are willing to give it our all, please don't let any fear creep in your mind. Learn, laugh and live and don't ever quit. We are all in the sea of uncertainty and no one has ever found a land without sailing for unthinkable times. For the seniors who are over with their attempts, I'm sure you have gained enough experience and knowledge to make it big in life and trust me, inside services or outside will cease to matter once you make it large in life.
I hope I had not disrespected anyone. If I did, apologies in advance. The sole purpose of my long comment here is to tell you that life doesn't end here. We just need to see what had gone wrong and correct it. And in the end, it pays to be a winner. You will all laugh over this thread many years from now. (Take my words).
Good luck to all of us.
Spoke like a soldier. Once a soldier, always a soldier. =D> =D>
Hi all. I hv been a silent spectator of this forum since last year when i left my job for pursuing this dream. merely reading views and experiences of people here made me never feel alone though i hv been preparing in isolation at home. In three attempts that i hv given, failed in pre in 1st( due to casual attitude that i won't be able to clear with job in the very first attempt anyways.) in second attempt last year, appeared for interview and hoped to get into some allied service and then reappear in 2016 (for IAS). but destiny completely changed on 4 july and i could not find my name in that pdf. somehow gathered my self to appear for prelims 2015 because that was the only way to get over with the 'shock'.(despite the fact that i had been totally out of touch of studies from January 2015)
but i din know that a greater shock was in waiting and it occurred to me on 12 oct , when i failed in prelims again!!!! Prelims is the toughest stage for me , i was so scared of it that despite having secured 226 last year i didnot study for 50 days and kept thinking i'll not clear. when i could not make into final list regretted that and told myself no matter what i'll start studying immediately after prelims. did dat this tym and guess what i am not writing mains!!!!
my mental peace is lost and somewhere i have lost myself, my beliefs about the world, about hardwork and most importantly about myself. i give up because i do not want to give pain to people who have a lot of expectations from me for my one wish. i am done.
it took a lot of courage to write this ...i am an introvert but somewhere felt connected to all the people who might be going through similar emotions.
This is for all those who have exhausted their attempts and are undecided what to do. I have an idea. This may sound ridiculous and outrageous but do consider and give it a thought.
Somewhere down you all had thought of joining IAS for power prestige and serving nation. I am guessing these primary intention plus there must be individual own criteria.
