A man ,who just had completed his btech from a north eastern university, Wished to be like his dad. His dad was an IAS OFFICER who Revolutionzed many poor lifes by introducing PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM in his Andhra cadre ,which later became a success story all over india. Everyone had high hopes from his son,his prodiology, and what he will do was the one thing his well wishers wondered. Following his dad's footstep ,he packed bags for the mecca of upsc, aka DELHI ,since there was no internet at that time. He studied hard ,very hard ,the midnight lamp was never extinguished during his prep. One year later ,the D_Day came ,confident like a Boss ,he went on to saddle what he will do for lifetime , (thats what he thought) Some days later ,Pre result came , and to everyone's utter distress,this chap,son of a legendary IAS OFFICER ,failed in first step itself. Everyone was awestruck ,how it can be ...? He decided to continue.. Prelims-2 He failed again. He decided to continue... Prelims-3 He FAILED AGAIN. 3 attempts ,4 years ,son of an ias couldnt even clear the first hurdle itself. U would be thinking right now that hes a failure.. A disgrace to his father.. A looser.. BUT HE DIDNOT THOUGHT SO.,, Call it fate ,luck or destiny ,he packed his bags to go US for masters , as it was the only one of the few viable option.He left india as a failure, to himself,to his father,to his nation.. So what do you think wouldve happened ..? Was his journey going to be just a fellow in crowd. The man who couldnt clear prelims thrice ,what would achieve ..?

From a failure.. To 20 years later .. How did he do..?
Well, nothing great ,as he claims... Yet world knows him today as CEO OF MICROSOFT.
He did his engineering from Manipal, Karnataka, NOT from Sikkim Manipal... kya yaar..kuch bhi likh dete ho.. )
What I have learnt from this attempt is that luck plays a big role in this exam. It was merely about eliminating 2 options and getting 1 correct from rest 2. This can be won only by luck. Many have been selected who weer not serious aspirants at all and many who are previous rankers or have written 2-3 mains have failed. what is your opinion on this? I think we should stop making this exam our life. there are many other avenues as well. The fight shall continue but with backup options.
I have been preparing for this exam from 2002 4th of august till 12oct 2015 .from obc category finally I am packing my books and my dream do not know what to do .till 12oct I have a work to study or at least to show I am studying. But today I am free as if my existence do not matter
upsc need big reform in their selection process , a guy who has spent 6 years in preparation and finally being denied by upsc , what options he has with all the crap he learned for upsc , (may be only teaching ) , the country has wasted the effort of the youth , where is human resource utilization if we think about the progress of country ?? i have worked in software , if upsc had coding paper, at least in the preparation i wud have mastered the skills to an extent where i wud land up in any dream job of software even after my doors to upsc were closed ... when will we come out from legacy the Britishers have left here ... all those who lost in prelims ...their precious effort is lost in learning something which has no employability value ..
