BJP should not have dragged, UPSC in its petty politics. If they lose in Bihar, then they will not tinker with the pattern in the light of UP elections in 2017. But if they lose Bihar, then Lalu and Congress will get backdoor entry in the name of Nitish. It's kinda lose lose situation for UPSC aspirant BJP supporters like me. (

I have only thing to say to you all guys(though I am not qualified to cajole or console the grieved hard working hearts and brains) Please develop some hobby and take a small job. Preparing full time is very risky unless you have very good backup like good family business (like AIR 28 2012 had). But don't take a very hectic job. If you are in job which takes your 6-8 hours then it's fine. With remaining time you can study with double intensity rather than doing half day timepass in room preparing full time. I tried taking 2 weeks leave. I couldn't study more than 7 hours daily with focus.
can u give some examples of 6-8 hours good job?
Hi Krishreturns, I would suggest you to take a software job because I am in the same field. You can take a simple role in not very demanding company. Positive of working in s/w industry: 1. You get access to newspaper, office internet, unlimited printouts, lounges and meeting room where you can simply duck for 1 hour study and nobody will bother you. 2. You get 2 days weekends, someday you can simply flunk to get long weekends by planning your leaves 3. You can have an image of average Joe in your team. Just don't outperform and never complain and don't stay late. Slowly people will develop a kind of negative and dull image for you and you are relived from heavy work-pressure.
I am saying this because in my floor only there is one guy who does exactly same thing and he cleared prelims this time. He comes office at 12.30. and once his manager leaves at 5.30 again he is on his own so study till 8.30 in office and send some menial mails to show as if he stayed till 8.30 and then leave.
Please remember, I said SIMPLE ROLE in NOT VERY DEMANDING COMPANY like financials, high paying companies
I am a lifescience post graduate from central univ and joined IISC for phd out of my sheer passion for science and to do something great for mankind.I left the MCBL lab after a year and started preparing for civils for past 2 yrs this is my 2nd attempt.when u fail u fail doesn't matter by how many marks u miss by.

Once ur thoughts are taken care everything is taken care of..Just take this yr 2015-16 alone dont think beyond and lets do it...Give ur 100% with honesty (detach from everything that blurs ur focus) and see if u get it ,if not there are many other platforms where u can achieve ur vision.
1.read for min of 2-3 hrs a session to feel the joy of reading-with out concentration and consistercy u cannot enjoy any thing. 2.develop productive habits(music, jog, read autobiographies). 3.Show India ur dirctorial venture in 2017 ( MOVIE with great ideas and vision)---NO to so called virtual enetertainment . 4.see every woman as mother,sister,daughter---there is no point of lust. 5.practice concentration of vivekananda, fight and courage of lance armstrong, discipline of pullela gopichand, morality, purity and patriotism of kalam.

hi frnds this my third attemt wrote mains earlier but could not qualify pre this time, although this time I gave my best effort i was getting aroung 115 as per different keys dont know where and what went wrong. Now i just want to leave this preparation and move on to some job.
UPSC is a hydra head monster till you deliberately see it like a hydra. The moment you realise that its a simple exam which want smart work to secure a good rank in this exam. I my self failed miserably again this time after failing continuously 3 times in pre. What lesson i learned that UPSC demands a full year (365) days rigorous, continuous, meticulous, hard work. I couldn't give that full time pre condition for UPSC owing to my family responsibility & financial issues. But i know very well i will surpass this & will get under 100 rank in 2016. First of all, no success is final . Suppose , Even if you get selected for IAS , then in job again there is struggle, even bigger and harsher one. So this winning and loosing is a continuous process. Every time you face a problem you'll have to solve it. Past doesn't matter , Attempts given is just a number . Don't think about it. Take rest for a month ,get your Weapons together and then Train .And Train ruthlessly. Single mindedly . Society ,Family ,Ego ,Future are secondary only the training is Primary. If you can follow that. You can win definitely. You are already an officer. Its time you accept that and start acting like one. For Failure there may be many attempts but for success we require only one. Make it worth it.

Whom I am waiting for ?
should I peep through the widow or should I just open the door
Through the window world looks green but the door welcomes guest unseen
A long wait..as old as time now dont seem to be mine
Patience was the weapon..which I used
But now I am confused
Was waiting for the train had a destination
But now after the long wait have only the pain
May b.. today or tomorrow the wait will b over
But still through the window the world looks green but the door welcomes guest unseen.
