I have a rather different query, please answer it anyone. The questions 2,3,4,6,7,8 doesn't have any word limit prescribed in the paper. I just checked the UPSC question paper too. Should we assume that 150 word limit is imposed on them also? If yes, why different marks?

Hey, I never joined his test series as the price range was too high. However, I have gone through some of his test papers and found them okay. Can't really comment on his paper discussion.
I did not join Arun sir's test series, so i can't review it. My strategy - I am preparing from ncert class 11 and 12 , pathak sir's class notes and baron for p-1 n smark swain for p-2. I refer pathak sir's printed material only when i am unable to solve any question from previous yrs CSE mains question papers. I use internet if I don't understand any concept like lord's paradox, psycho-cybernetics, etc.
Gave three Mains with Psychology (2013: 126, 2014: 232, 2015: ?) I did Pathak sir test series two times. (Feedback: 1. Test series papers are good, few answers can be used directly in Mains. 2. Solutions are the real attraction, They are damn good. 3. Checking will be delayed, but feedback is better and elaborated than GS test series (Vajiram + Chokhalingam) 4. Discussion class will be ok. 5. Everyone usually do it, so answers can be repetitive in IAS mains, so can be a negative point. Overall: Test series is worth money for sure)
For Arun sir: My one friend recommended it and he was quite happy with it. So I visited his office (In Jan 2015)and my experience was not good. So I will prefer not to comment on it.
About Strategy: (My sources, Your may differ !!) P1: Pathak class notes + NCERT + Barron + Pathak sir Test series answers (2013, 2014, 2015) P2: Pathak Class notes+ Smarak Swain + Link current news with your own knowledge
Overall: Be thorough with one or two sources !! Then Start with writing Previous Year questions and NCERTs back questions. UPSC repeats pyq in P1 usually. Refer Internet and other sources when facing difficulty in answering questions. Writing answer is the time when you will get feedback about your knowledge level.
Experience after 2 Mains (2014): Do make short notes, Usually everyone understands Psychology. The key is need to remember it at the end of the day, which is must, So make short notes and Revise and revise instead of refering too much sources.
Please pay special attention to Block diagrams, Definition, Indian concepts and Psychologists, Real life examples (For P2)
