Amazing Videos, and so much energy in the man! We have had the tragedy of not having good teachers at all, especially in History, making history so boring.
I dreaded Indian History all my life and somehow like World History when I read the book on World History by Norman Lowe. I thought - Wow! World History can be interesting!
But never felt that way for Indian History. But Dr. Lal's way of teaching Indian History is simply amazing!

True that. The problem with our teachers is, they are teaching us for one or another exam and never for the sake of sharing knowledge. Most of them are pretty shallow in their knowledge and they are just doing a job unlike this man who seems to be in love with what he is teaching.
@SHADOW_BLAZE bro are you attending optional history classes in delhi? if so, How would you think about these lectures comparatively in terms of quality [which i am sure u would be in favor] and relevance as far the upsc syllabus is concerned, i am asking you because i have not been to any coaching classes so far.
No bro.... no coaching for history... hahaha history teachers in delhi are useless man. They r not even comparable to this gentleman. i had attended few demos of history optional teachers. All r ratta popat..... this person here is just marvellous. This is a direct example of brain drain.... just imagine, if such teachers were present in india instead of migrating, every indian colleges would have had quality teaching.. how unfortunate
In ancient india and modern india specifically, any such quality lectures will be worth watching in my opinion. Because it improves our understanding. Most importantly modern india. the type of questions that are being asked these days require very good understanding n these will surely help.
At least i am in favour of watching this and some ignou lectures in youtube. But their video quality is not good. I scored bad in paper two this year. Probly modern india section i got low marks
how many of you have actually completed watching all his videos?? I felt he dragged through initial video's but hurried half way through... ultimately I didn't feel like he covered atleast half of our required syllabus... although you can find proper beginning and the end, much of the needed stuff inbetween was left uncovered... these are lectures for optional courses, not regular ones... he needed to build some interest among his student's which he tried well... but I think he didn't overwhelm them with much stuff that upsc actually demands... just my opinion... anyone who actually heard all his lectures can please add up your opinion... thanks.
