  • master..new moderation me kya ho raha..kuchh batao
    as i told, i have no info about the details of new moderation method.

    but i can guess that they are trying to equalize the average marks of all the optionals. ( this will definitely benefit optional with maximum no. of candidates appearing, whether humanities or non-humanities)
    My objection is not to your guesswork, but the inherent assumption that candidates taking up different optionals have equal level of competence. C'mon if 10 candidates have given mains with maths, how can you pull them down to normalize their marks with Pub ad. We know prep level for Maths is definitely much higher compared to popular optionals.

    Solution ? Do away with optionals.
    Yes, that is the solution for the future. But what about the present? Prep level for maths is higher. UPSC gives the option to choose the subject. But it doesn't say that subjects which require higher level of prep will be favoured in marking. Just because someone chose a subject which is perceived to be easy, no one can show discrimination. UPSC has done that previously. When they try to reduce the disparity, we cannot say it is wrong.

    Oldboy..all sbjects r equal...marks cant b awarded on d basis of how tough an optional is..moreover even if u thnk dat maths is muchh tuffer dan pub ad n takes more time to prepare..i assure dat even if u preapre for 10 cnsecutive years for pub ad or other humanuties.u will hardly cross 250 given d current marking pattern ..can u say d same thng for d so called tougher maths
  • @all - Result aaj aane na koi scope hai kya?
    scope toh har din ka hota hai bhai....probability cannot be zero.
    @TheOldBoy87 - bhai woh baat toh aapki sahi hai, jab tak aa nahi jaata tab tak scope roz bana rahega..

    8->
    Bhai waise result aane waala hoga toh activity bad jaayegi yahan pe.
    Kitni bhi gappe baaz hon yahan par, result ke aas paas kuchh logon ko info mil hi jaati hai.

    @Indian2015 - I agree bhai, humanities meine kabhi bhi full marks nahi milega, beshak aapna answer bahut accha ho, but maths meine agar answer sahi hai with all step solution, phir toh easily full marks milte hai...

    @indian2015 @vignesh .. To start with I am also having popular optional. Look point is not just your preparation level. Look at like this, if you normalize marks of all the optionals, many who have taken up popular optional at last hour and have done 1-2 months prep, will get the same marks as someone who has worked very seriously in maths. Because, even worst performer in maths is (most likely) a serious candidate.

    Now my argument is not to negate that popular optionals are getting justifiably getting lower marks. I personally suffered due to it. They can do their moderation etc, but best and simplest solution is to remove optionals.
