Answers from someone currently working in or from someone who has worked in central secretariat service (CSS through SSC CGL) would be much appreciated.
This is regarding informing the Head of Dept. about applying for Civil Service Prelims :
(1) What do people normally do in Central secretariat when applying for UPSC, do they inform their HOD when they apply for the prelims ?
(2) How do bosses in CSS react to this ? Are they helpful or are they vengeful ? I'm asking this question because large number of candidates in CSS apply for UPSC too, so the bosses must have devised a pattern to deal with such aspirants.
(3) What is the probation period at the time of joining CSS ? If one wishes to resign during probation period, then what is the notice period ?
(4) What is the notice period after probation period ? Can a person say that I'll resign but I'll serve a notice period of only 15 days or a month and after that I want relieving. Is that allowed ?
