  • @hunterr where you gone? Can you explain about your source? See after starting the thread give a perfect information. Don't create a speculation for nothing.
  • Last year the notification was delayed and subsequently released at a later date with specifications such as possibility of more than one essay, cut off specified for qualifying papers.

Someone even released 'new' syllabus for almost every optional in the meantime.
Yes but except for those small changes, the changed syllabus matter didnt become true.. so the change in syllabus remained a rumour.

Dear @agent_upsc leaked syllabus last year was in the scheme of things of upsc..But in order to save their reputation and stay away from any controversy due to leaked syllabus even before official notification, they did not change the syllabus at the last moment..if it was not leaked, they would have changed..

Who knows committee may submit its recommendations in some time and they may have delayed the notification due to this reason? Gone are those days when aspirants were informed about changes a year before the same were to be brought in effect. Remember 2013!

Ok makes sense.. whats there for this year? Syllabus change or.. optional removal?
  • @nanta thanks, So it's your own prediction. So I need answer from one person who started this thread. Mods kindly notify him @hunterr

@nanta see if committee was formed by Government, it will take time to give their recommendations it's not a silly thing to recommend in one or two days, they will do the research and come to a consensus. So committee is not going to do anything for this year.
  • Do you know when the committee was formed? When did it recommend to make CSAT qualifying?

I had got only two info which i had already shared:
    1.new moderation formula
    2.Csat being made qualifying..

I shared both info in march itself.regarding optional removal i dont have any info..i will try to extract info about this from my source if possible..so enjoy.cheers

We dont have any details about formation of that committee. It WILL be formed but no timeline has been mentioned by DoPT.
  • @nanta committee didn't said to make CSAT qualifying. Its vote bank politics of Government. If it was a committee recommendation there might be a proper change for this year. This silly change like making qualifying shows that its not done by experts. Its from government.

See if 200 is going to be the marks, then there will be too many people will fall in same cutoff, so its very clear it's not by experts.
