Health and Spirituality feed

edited March 2013 in Miscellaneous
In this cut-throat competition around, the worst sufferer is our emotional, spiritual and physical health. Maintaining these, on the other hand is vital for not only exam but our whole life's happiness. We often complain of falling hair, feeling lonely, dejected, stressed and what not. This thread is an effort to lift us out/save us through collective effort from negativity that ensues. By collective effort, i mean, if one shares his experiences then others try to create reality out of it. Some good sociologist said, man makes those things real indeed, which he think/imagines are real.(Thomas theorem). Here you can share
1) your way of keeping healthy (e.g. Yoga, Jogging and tips on that )
2) Spiritual elevating material e.g. Kabir's Dohas or Sufi songs or whatever you feel will help us/make us spiritual.
3) Share what you did today regarding your health e.g. your exercise regimen as in how many repetitions of chin-ups,push ups, laps of ground you did on that day
4) Any experience of your life
5) Whatever you feel like helpful in abovementioned goals

[PS: This thread may seem old-fashioned, but dont underestimate, such things can really play a great role in our lives]

Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
    Where you gonna go?

    Salvation is here"

  • Our eyes may get strained looking continuously at monitor screen. But, we often forget that we have facility to increase size of font in almost every application be it our browser, pdf reader, Word. We jus dont pay attention to this aspect. We open a file and start reading it even though font is very small. Next time when you open a file don't forget to increase the font size. It will lessen the strain on your eyes. Any way, Keep your browser at 125% default zoom level.

    In IE Page>Zoom

    >adjust the brightness, so that you don't strain your eyes.
    >Look away from the screen every half an hour, preferably focus on a distant point (Like a bird on the tree across the street from your window).

Download "F.lux"http://stereopsis.com/flux/ for automatic brightness adjustment and so lesser strain then normal (I usually keep it at lowest),infact it adjusts the brightness of the screen according to the time of the day. Most importantly its free,so check it out :)

"This is your life, are you who you want to be
This is your life, is it everything you dreamed that it would be
When the world was younger and you had everything to lose"
    My fav. switchfoot song
  • @zaphod_phi, they haven't made a song I don't like. Truly spiritual and inspiring!
