Anybody with IT background and work-experience please post probable questions for interview here. I worked at Infosys for 2+ years, so expecting questions on e-goveranance, digital india, skill india etc.
I also have 2 years IT exp on Oracle applications... Probably they may ask 1. Why did u leave IT job which give a high salary wn compared to govt job? 2. How will u use UR IT experience in administration? 3. Being a specialist why u want join a generalist service? By doing this r u not wasting UR technical skills. 4. Tell us abt three lastest inventions in ITC? I am also confuses whether they will ask anything from engg subjects....I am a computer science engg.

(1) Money is an important but not only factor. Govt job has more responsibility towards people compared to private job. Govt job provides a direct platform to serve people and bring change. (2) Talk of e-governance, but I am thinking of IT applications which are accessible in rural areas (in absence of electricity and broadband connectivity)...suggestions? (3) I find much more learning opportunities across domains in a generalist service rather than being confined to a specialist service at early stages of career. In due course of time, experience across departments will help in broadening understanding that facilitates integrative approach towards handling issues. (4) Internet of things (pls name some, could come up only with this
I am completely out of touch with IT engg. subjects...What basic subjects to revise at the least?

Yaar, even I did my undergrad in Comp Sc. though I never worked in the field. Have been in Marketing etc. I am scared as hell regarding IT questions that may prop up during the interview. People with experience in the field may kindly put a consolidated list of core areas covered during Engg. i.e. COmp Sc.
(2) Talk of e-governance, but I am thinking of IT applications which are accessible in rural areas (in absence of electricity and broadband connectivity)...suggestions?
My friend... without electricity and connectivity how we we even imagine application of IT. I am out of thoughts on this. Even if we build thick clients, one need devices to access IT apps and they run on electricity. Even these apps will require connectivity to be pushed into the devices. The biggest benefit of public service delivery is based on client server model backed by large data centers. It is not possible without electricity and connectivity. This is the reason why energy security and National Optic Fibre Network (NOFN) are critical in this regard.

True. But in absence of regular electricity supply and till NOFN materializes, mobile apps on agriculture, education, info dissemination services can be deployed.
I thought that mobile phones are charged with electricity. I was not able to buy mobiles for my relatives back at villages because there was no electricity connection. There were no mobile towers near the vicinity cause antenna and routers need electricity to be up and running. Solar helped but only that much.
I would like to think little broader while answering how will you use your IT experience in admin. 1. One primary thing in working style of IT companies is working in TEAMs....I learnt how to work successfully in IT company. now I will try to use that in admin create team spirit where ever I am posted. 2. Computerization and automation of govt procedures is going on. With knowledge in fields of admin and IT development, I can become right person to act as bridge between govt dept and IT company and convey the correct requirements to s/w companies. 3. In the same way my experience will help design training progs to govt staff at local level on new software apps they are going to use. 4. Above points along with general points like I will use mobile tech to speedy inf dissemination and proper tech for file tracking etc...
Sorry for being too critical but i got the drift on mobile apps. Thanks.
You are correct. But then how can ICT be leveraged if there is intermittent power supply? True that as of now many villages don't have either electricity or mobile tower.
