10th bipartite settlement and some other queries

edited December 2014 in Banking
Will 10th bipartite settlement increase wages of IBPS banks only or sbi too?

BTW which is it possible to prepare for UPSC after joing as PO. Because I heard POs have a 9 to 9 job and even have to work on sundays at times. So is it better to join as a clerk or assistant in IBPS or SBI or RBI or Insurance company if you are planning to prepare for IAS.

  • If you join as a PO, it is extremely difficult to study. Even though there is literally no work during probation, the problem is they dont let you go home. You have to stay in office and waste your time. A clerk in SBI is better, 10 to 5, no one can stop you after 5. RBI and Insurance are better, but the bond in insurance is a deal breaker.

BTW will SBI clerks salary get raised after 10th settlement? Ibps clerk salary is like 15,000 and it will become 22,000 from what I have heard. SBi clerk salary is 17k, will it get increased too?

Do clerks get half-day on saturdays?

BTW I have also applied for New india assurance and United india insurance officer exam. Which topics are important for maths? Less information is available on the net regarding insurance exams
