Need help about coaching in Delhi

edited December 2012 in Miscellaneous
Hello my brothers and sisters,

I have decided to devote my forthcoming months to UPSC preparation by retiring myself from all other major distractions.
From January I am planning to shift to Delhi most probably.
I have started preparing for prelims at the moment.
But I feel I need to go for some coaching for UPSC prelims-oriented coaching. Not that I am unaware about what UPSC is, but I want to make preparations UPSC-oriented.
I would like to clarify that I want coaching for prelims only.
Did anyone here ever go to Delhi for coaching? Please give feedback.
Anyone staying in Delhi right now?

So, any good coaching you suggest?
Which are the best coaching centres for prelims in Delhi? What about accomodation? Are the accomodations nearby to coaching ?
Approximate fees for coaching and accomodation?

I will be extremely thankful to you if you can guide me.

  • Though I'm not competent enough to clarify your query, since I didn't clear the prelims this year, but would like to share my thoughts and experience. Names of coaching institutes for different subjects/GS have been discussed in the forum. I went for Vajiram's. But trust me after a while you realize you don't really need to go for any coaching once you are through with the flow of preparation and have your study materials in place. Just don't get swayed by the sea of materials available in the market and from past posts it seems you are already aware of the essential ones, so just go for them and practice as many MCQs as possible.
  • guys we all know about the book list for prelims
but m in doubt about the material or book with which we can practice mcq
    of upsc standard

    @rm1

Thanks for the in-depth explanation and tips. You are awesome !!! :-*

Yes I do know the essential materials. Also I am exploring more avenues of preparation online and that is certainly helping. But I thought to go UPSC-oriented in my preparation as I already mentioned above. So, I thought to go for coaching. I may re-think it now.

And I am sure you will crack the prelims next time. Believe me. You certainly will. :-)

    Best regards,
    sheen.
