History Optional Topics Discussion

edited October 2014 in History & Culture
In keeping view the changing style of History optional questions , it becomes necessary to look into some unconventional areas. Also there are some minute facts spread over various books which are difficult to recollect. The propose of this thread is to list the unconventional areas which one may come across during his study of various sources. Also we can list down topics and mention few facts below it so that it becomes easy to recollect.
I would like to begin with condition of women in early medieval India . In various books like Upinder Singh , Romila Thapar etc. , the sectionas related to society only mention about serfdom , 'peasantisation of tribes' , loss of mobility , declining position of Vaishyas etc.But there is no mention of condition of women.'Condition of women in early medieval India' has been specifically mentioned in the syllabus.I request people with History optional -and other knowledgeable people - to give pointers. Also mention various positions adopted by Historians
