Confused about continuing for UPSC | Doubts regarding Back up

edited September 2014 in Miscellaneous
I'm literally confused about continuing preparation. Left my job last october to prepare solely for UPSC ( SAP Developer with an MNC). Post exam analysis makes me a borderline case. Considering that I have a skill set in SAP, I won't want to join as PO or something in any bank (plan B if I continue). I'm loosing hope everyday and to sit for another year at home makes me sweat more. It would then be difficult to get a job because of 2 years gap and on grounds of lost touch with my domain.

Experienced aspirants from IT who faced a similar situation or otherwise- Please pour in your suggestions so that I can make up my mind and do justice to myself!

I can understand the dilemma since I too work in IT and preparing while working. Joining a new job just before mains preparation can change your time availability. Keep preparing and take a call when results come out. Good luck :)
  • @jaydev bhai samajh rha hun...Prep to chal hi rhi hai but with a constant fear. O/p bhi affect ho rha hai.

@naujawan yup man, I think that'll be a better time to introspect again. Thanks anyways! :)
  • I would suggest, give atleast one year for UPSC (full time preparation) .. but, once u give urself that time for preparation, make sure that there is no other distraction .. come out off all ur problems atleast for one yr .. and then give ur dash in upsc preparation..

Just to add to that...im thinking the same..quit my job in august last year...and im also on borderline..but taking it as a positive..agar ho gaya then mains hi sahi..nahin hua then will never get another golden oppurtunity like this...and i mean golden as in...there shall be no excuses next year tats what i m saying to my self...make it count like this is ur last n only attempt ( next year if u dont clr pre this time)..

Job to mil hi jayegi..but time na milega..

    Good luck
  • Nobody considers your CV after gap in it for any candidature. Its very risky . You will lose your golden private career for no quid pro quo. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
Not everybody is that brilliant who can crack the upsc, but one has to move on.
