All those singing praises for DP Agarwal seem to NEVER have had a bizarre experience in Mains. All your love for him will evaporate.
Agreed 100%
I have friends score 40 marks in PUB AD and Geography. And no accountability. We could have fought this together, if the Shakespeares in this forum had shown some empathy for their cause. Now any further student driven reform is years ahead.
Those that trusted CSAT alone to sail thru wouldn't have cleared mains anyway. I know of so many people, who scored 180+ in P2 and just a 65-70 in p1 wrote mains last year, but couldn't do much in Mains.
in P1 scoring 60-70 is some what easy... anything above that needs some serious preparation. and to score above 100 needs real understanding of concepts and knowledge of facts.
in my honest opinion, CSAT, needs some tweaking. at least in terms of weight-age. if not they could give an hour more to solve 80 question... We need to test the comprehending abilities and not the speed of reading... we need ppl to be good at logical reasoning, english comprehension math, but not necessarily lightening fast... just my opinion.
That's the issue with society, where speaking English is perceived as elite. at least I don't perceive it so. also, it is important personally to not feel inferior if one cannot speak the queen's language. I studied in a regional medium, but I learnt English on my own later. as long as Politicians keep fighting for Hindi, in the way they are now, English will remain a language speakers of which will be perceived as elite. Interview board was right or wrong, is something I will stay away from. but it is important to have enough confidence to let the interviews know that you are comfortable in your language, however there;s no harm if they force you to speak in English. probably a way to measure your coping abilities. in my company we do something called stress interview, we list all those that are not known to the candidate as points to be discussed. it is not the answer that counts but attitude.

I completely agree with you. I got a bit carried away. I feel students have lost today.
