This year is the 60th anniversary of Indian Parliament. Can we collect some
facts on the falling standards of Parliament vis-a-vis other nations or otherwise which we can put in our Pub Ad Answers. Please contribute.
-the Monsoon session totally disrupted with only 3 bills passed without discussion
-Parliament held hostage by a single opposition party, the Leader of Opposition proudly claimed that every moring we sit and decide if we have to let the Parliament function or not.
Please include here the facts about falling standards of state legislature also.

Parliament immediately after independence: Parliament now
---> had charismatic leaders like LBS, JLN, ---> now also we have - A.raja, PC etc
--->no CrP and PrC ---> now 160 mps have criminal records
--->not much degree holders( yet wise) ---> learned in harvard, how to corrupt
---> were sincere in attending parlia ---> now,train tickets are difficult to
get nowadays=>so less
attendance.
--->Single party => no regional aspirations ---> now coalition govts gave more
were met bargaining power to states
--->low women representation --->still low, but have improved frm50s
---> only 50% voting ---> more voting 70- 75%
While giving the above points, if we can compare them subjectively by using pub ad terminologies like representation, participation, democracy diminishing trend, lack of trust building etc then I THINK it would become a pub ad answer.... i think we should gain edge in comparative analysis (Riggs'ji), more than giving factual data...
for more analysis, ther's a edition in yojana titled '60yrs of independence' i thnk may 2012 edition, not sure
