Less ministries LESSER UPSC VACANCIES. Modi what have you done!

Modi have downsized the cabinet --calling it less governance. Now we will have lesser vacancies for IAS, IPS IRS etc. That's why i was always pro congress. congress always favors bureaucrats. Now the vacancies for UPSC will decrease and SSC will increase. :(

  • There are multiple secretaries in a single ministry. Relax, at least until the notification is out.

  • U interpret it wrong, it's not less ministries bt less ministers. In an way i think it's good as ministers are very much dependent on bureaucrats. So when a single minister has to look after so many ministries, requirements for bureaucrats will surely increase, as far as logic says so. Bt can't predict what actually gonna happen.

p.s i am not a modi or bjp supporter and has inclination towards a party which some say, was set up as a safety valve for British imperialists.
  • Off topic but on vacancies, cadre restructuring for CBEC has been approved and is being implemented as of now. Increase in vacancies for IRS(C&CE) is expected.
    Cheers.
  • Pl understand it, there will be 3-4 expansions in cabinet...Final Tally of ministers will be around 70 same as of UPA!!! Dont worry...
    Just study... :P
  • Weird logic. IAS is a hierarchical service. If Modi downsizes the cabinet, that should affect those who are already in the services and are eying for secretary level posts in next 5-10 years.
I don't see the demand for young civil servants plummeting because of this.
  • You only need one vacancy in the notification for yourself!

Don't worry too much about the number of seats available. When we are talking about a ratio like 1 IAS officer for every 4000 applicants, it doesn't matter.
  • We worry too much. She loves me, she loves me not. yahi sochne mein aadha time nikal dete hai. In small doses, emotions is a cure, in large doses, its lethal.

well said bro =D> . still because the BJP has big names so bureaucrats will be given less "bhaav". bcoz the IAS were given the free hand they could implement FSB and MNERGA.

This reminds me of a scene from the legendary BBC sitcom "yes prime minister".
The cabinet secretary is desperately searching for ways to show the prime minister that he is cutting down expenditure and staff while in reality he has to manage to do the opposite(Parkinson's law). His predecessor gives him this brilliant idea. He asks the cabinet secretary to merge two or more departments into single departments to make it look like the number of departments is shrinking. But at the same time he must retain all the staff of both the departments and add a coordinating mechanism at the top to enlarge the actual size of Britain's bureaucracy.
