IBPS Banks allocation query

edited May 2014 in Banking
Hi All
I appeared for the IBPS PO 3 and have been allocated IOB which was my third preference behind ECGC and PNB. Today while browsing through the list of candidates uploaded on the IBPS website I came to know that there are a number of people in the Unreserved list who have scored well below me but have been allocated these two banks while I have been denied. I have calculated all possible angles and can not decipher the method which has led to this anamoly. This can not be a case of SC/ST/OBC candidates capturing general seats as I have outscored them. 6 general candidates who have lesser marks and ranks than me have been allocated ECGC while I am not. Same can be said of 100+ candidates who have been allocated PNB bypassing me.When I contacted the Candidate helpline IBPS, they replied that the method of allocation is confidential and can not be disclosed. They are simply refusing to answer my calls now .The lady on the other end of the line is not only rude but unapologetically tells me to bear whatever bank I have got. This is ridiculous and makes the preference filling a joke as it all seems random to me now. Am I missing something? Any one who can help? Someone who has faced such situation before and is willing to throw some light is most welcome.

  • I had faced the similar situation last year in Specialist Officer, wherein I was not alloted BOB which was my 1st preference even though my rank was first...It was waste of time communicating with them as last year they had not even uploaded list of candidates..u can private message me ur details..i will see if i can help.. I have got BOB this time in specialist officer manager credit and my rank is 2nd..

They would stonewall it. Thought about it and then backed off. Time is a concern here.
