Dreams & Doubts

edited August 2012 in Miscellaneous
Dear friends, Here i am starting a separate column for aspirants to ask their queries different from their comments. As it is would be beneficial for others also as most of us sail in almost same boat of vagaries during this epic journey of becoming an IAS officer.image

From personal experience i can say when we are on that side of river bank we had many doubts and they keep lingering on our hearts and minds. This new category is to halt the “Yes”, “NO” or “May Be” status of an aspirant. It is better to work with single frame of mind rather than being diabolical.

Sir could you throw some light on this 'single frame of mind'...i have difficulty maintaining it during my preparation...i guess everyone goes through the phase of 'what if i don't clear'

  • @Khajoor...
single frame of mind means single focused approach towards your goal and no other distractions of any type.

Sir i have one question...often other countries take a stand in India's favor...but India doesn't respond that way...why so? doesn't it lessen India's position at the international level?

  • @Khajoor...
dear, this is International Politics and you must not mix it up with so called ethics or moral values. Even if you got selected as IFS your duty is to "uphold Indian interests preferably without war and if possible by war".
and India's foreign policy has shifted itself from being just nice to everyone to more pragmatic. it is our immaturity in handling the earlier India's status otherwise we would have been permanent member of UNSC. If you carefully observe India's position in UNSC it is like walking on a tight rope. so don't be emotional. it is so what we can do. just follow the above said principle.
