It is better to cover the basics of environment from class 12th biology NCERT book last unit Environment and Ecology. once completed that part go for daily updated in newspaper as questions asked from this section are mainly current oriented. ICSE book available in market is bit more factual while NCERTs are more comprehensive, concise and are written in a more easy to read manner.
@khajoor... once i went to a famous book shop in old rajinder nagar to buy NCERT that book shop wala asked me to buy some other book by saying that "ji kya karoge sarkari kitab padh kar iska to binding bhi bahut kaharab hai". but that man doesn't know what role these NCERTs has played in shaping this country silently and making common man as secular & neutral also. i have found they are the best books available for school students when the youth shapes its itself & prepares the country's future after 20-30 years.
