  • Here is the methodology to cover the above list as suggested by Mentors50 :

    1. You have the Red, Amber,, green list with you. (RAG). If you dont have it, get it from anybody who has it. It is common for all the 3 groups.
    2. Once you have the list, you will ONLY read about those topics!!! Nothing else!!!!
    3. What to read in each topic??? Each topic is actaully vast!!
    4. You follow this common sense principle:
    5. Close your eyes, think of the general common sensical question that comes to your mind. For red, think more...horizonatlly!!! not vertically!! (vertical deep thinking is required for mains, not for prelims!)
    6. Form questions in your mind, and then write it down in the note book.
    7. Thus your question list is ready!!!
    8. The qustions shall be facts oriented.
9.Like they ask in the prelims...questions like, who, when, etc..and not Why? How etc..
    10. Then once you have set of questions, then serach for the answers!!!
    11. You will get them in CSR, or any jounal or frontime or google.
    12. If you dont get that, then ASK your mentors!!!!
    13. The 3 days time is ONLY for that!!!!
    14. Thus u make notess!!!
15.Each of you will make the notes!!! As you have formd the questions and then searched teh answers, and then wrote in down, it will stay in your memory like anythng!!!! You will not forget it!!!
    16. Do this for all red topics. Individaully!!!
    16. For Amber, you will do this in for group. Each of you will choose one, and take notes. and then you will consolidate it for the group!!
    17. Green is simple, just read once and write questions, no need for taking any notes!
    18. Now you have RAG!!
19 .This is about CA. WHat about GK?! for that you will something more.
    20. Take a good GK book like manorama.
    21. Keep your RAG list. Keep ticking all the topics your RAG list covers.
    22. After you are through, you will find theer are topics in the book, not covered by your RAG list!!
    23. Take them as Amber, and start notes on them!!!
    24. Thus, your final RAG has both CA and GK.
    25. Now, you have covered the entire paper 1 syllabus!!!
  • They are planning on giving some 2500 MCQs too .I'll make sure to share them too .
  • thnx luv..grt job
  • Thanks a lot man. =D>
  • thx @luv
history is not in the list.
  • thx @luv
history is not in the list.
The list is the same that they gave there so if history is missing then I think they might not have included it in the list .

Prelims Special _ Mani Sir's 5 Points to Success :
    ----------------------------------------------------
    1. 'Tune' the mind 100% towards prelims, thus increase its efficiency. This tuning
means, looking for prelims question in everything, and REJECTING everything else.

    2. Scan the current affairs topic for last 2 years, make a list of CA topics...and then
start taking notes on possible questions coming from them.

3.Use the chess board model to organize the topics so that we will remember it to
the maximum, your questions will be posted it on the squares.

    4.Talking the paper:2 , practice, practice and practice...unlike paper 1, no guess
work here. So, you need to identify the type of questions asked and practice. We
    will give some hints.

5.Keeping a good routine so that you are able to give the test in 'normalcy'..it
means your routine what you do on the test day, shall be rehearsed for atleast 15
    days before and every day..

    Chess Board Model Theory:
our human brain remembers everything, EVERYTHING in the form of a patterns..
for simplicity sake we will call it as a picture...
so, whatever input goes to the brain, the brain converts it into a picture....
    how does this happen?
imagine our brain like a elastic clay. surface....
and the sensory input as rain falling over it....
when the rain falls on the earth, it cuts rivults and froms a pattern...
    like valleys..!!
imagine same type or patterns are formed in the brain too...
so ALL we get gets stored as pic...thats how what we see is remembered
    longer!!
anyword u think of...anything...when u think of that, in the brain..u can actaully a
    picture associated with it..
when i say 'fear' ...immediately your brain forms a pic of a dark alley...or the
lonely night u spent at home!!
when i say 'fight', u think of he fight scene u witnessed or what i saw in
    movie....that impresed u much,...
but, for EVERYTHING, ur brain forms a pic...
this is the corner stone of the chess model..
this is the corner stone of the chess model..
So, inorder to ensure that our meory is strong..and we can recall what we
    learnt...what we have to do?
we have to convert our learing into picture format!!
(BTW< we all remember the full story of the comics we read with pictires..and
forgotten many stories where pic was not there!!!)
how to convert the 1000 of information about prelims CA into pictures??
choose a wall in your room...
and draw a huge chess board...!!
if he wall is uneven...fic thermocool or white thick sheet on the wall..
and then draw a huge rectangle or square..
and then draw a huge rectangle or square.. don't colour them black and white!!!
leeave it empty..u will fll it with colour later!!
now, mark the rows and columns..
each row is a big subject...
    example: row 1: politics...
    row 2: science...
    row 3: geography..
and then mark the columns as: space programe, disater mgmt, etc..
so, u will mark all teh science related things n the columns and they all will come
    under the same row!!
and then use the post it..and keep stcking importnat points on the sqaure!!
this whoel square will get stored in the brain as a picture!!!
ur brain will remember which square is where!!!
you will find it so easyy to look for which info where!!
in the exam hall..u want to remember something...u will now that it was on the
    right bottom square!!!
    and pop the answers will!!!
and then u will colour the squares into 3 colours...
those sujects where questions are asked freqently and thus which need a deeper
    study...: RED
those subjects which are asked moderately...ORANGE....
    those subjets which are new...Green!!!

so, you will know where u need to concenrate immediatley..
and u need too sit befoee the 'ches board', close yoru eyes...and try to recollect
the ches board...u will do that immediately!!..if u falter anywhere...open your
    eyes..check teh topic...and close your eyes...redo it!!!
you will be amazed at how easily you can remember so muchh!!!!
we wil make a common chess board...it may come to 20 x 30 or so..
and then you need to remember as first 5 rows, second 5 rows , 3rd 5 rows etc..
but, you will soon remember it so well...as you remember the things in your home
    wall..
anyway..we wil have the last 5 or 6 rows for non-receny, but importat things..
    general knowldege..
whichmay not be associted with CA...but still there...which a model aspirant is
    expected to know!!!
so let them form a small core group..and form the chess board... and then others
    can edit it..
they should come to he final chess board by this week end...next tuesday it shall
    be ready?
and then we will paint it with red, amber and green!!!!
U know what advantge it will have?! next time when u see anything connected with
the subject in red square, athe aspirant will read it even if that was a bit of paper!!
ok guyss!! you know better on that! As you say!!

  • .......... contd . .

so, let them post the 1st version of the chess board on thursday? We anyway will
edit and improve it 10 times!!

further, we also can take sometime and go through all the questions. pat the
backs of those who have framed good questions. encourage and tune those who
have not been able to form good ones.

How to make the Chess Board (With Colors):
how to mark a particular square as red or amber or green..or leave it blank..
for red: red are those squares where you need to study in depth...means CSE
expects you to haave an indepth knowldege.. and as questions from the same topic
are asked so many times, its gets deeper and deeper

example: constritution, freedom struggle.. geography of india.. generally in this
category questions are asked agian and agian.. next comes amber: here the topics
are not regular..but still u cant ignore them, because, they are likely to come this
time!! means those whcih are extensively discussed in the recent times... example:
    section 377capital punishment etc

and last is green: here the topics are fresh...but good possibility of coming..!!
becose, the topic is not completley new.. mahil bank concept i snot new.. its
old..just that its in news now..so its perfect example for amnberand put it under
heading 'banks'cryo is agian ambersee..topics which are old but importnat are
amber they are imp because, they were in news..

topics in news..but FRESH are green ok..now once you divide it...u will have your
wall..spread with red, amber and green boxes!! listen...red is: those topics which
are in news...and which are expected to be covered in depth by the aspirants. get
me? undestand: topic recently in news+ important enough to be covered in depth
by aspirants.. only 2 factors in news +important... topics in news+ those where
questions come every year example: constitution of india..

part 2 is : adding GK to that chess board.. in the earlier chess board topics itself u
would have covered a lot of GK.. take one referenace book...i suggest manorma..
now, after your chess board covers the manorama..

still some parts of the manorama will be left untoched by your chess board part
1...right?? example: speed of light!! or about the discoveries in science.. which may
not be in the recent news..but they may ask... what is the chemical used in
anaesthesia? from the manorama, copy such topics in to the chess board now
there are ther chemicals: whateevr..i am giving you the conceptlike...circumference
of earth.. so, which thse topics to the chess here u cant mark them into any
    colour...
now, u start concentratng on red first..them amber..and green and white.. use post
it for everything u learn new.. take a pic of the wall and use it as your desktop
picture keep looking athe chess board day and night.. then dig deepr into red
squares and make your own notes

for all red...own notes are a must!!! amber is also own notes...but not in depth...
green and white u can borrow notes.. you will finish this in this month..marchh!!!
april is for paper 2.. may is the midterm test..
  • @LuV

    Thank You :)
  • I would want to say a few words,

Don't just look at topics from prelims point of view and find questions and try making a question bank. The fact that there is so less time between pre and mains this year would mean both should go hand in hand.

Our objective is not to clear just pre but to be in the final list.
