Those working overseas and preparing for UPSC

edited March 2014 in Miscellaneous
hi... i have been preparing fr upsc for almost 2 years now. Wrote prelims in 2013 but could not clear. I have recently joined work in uae as an engineer and planning to travel to India for appearing fr the prelims this year in august. My job being site based, I'm not able to find much time to prepare for the exam. Securing a long leave of around 1-3 months preparations is not a easy thing here. Also travelling to india frequently just fr writing an exam is a bit costly as I'm just at the entry level and salary is not that high. countries such as uae, uk and us give its citizens a better quality of life compared to India. In such circumstances is it wise enough to continue preparing for this exam or settle here with a better life.
Friends many of you must be in a similar position as I am. Some of you might be in a better position than mine. Please share your thoughts on this....I would appreciate your support.

Quick answer is, do you mind to spend money on the exam that you are passionate about? will you be happy if you dont take this exam? that is the central question you need to ask your self?
