try writing with both hands simultaneously ,no where in upsc notification it is mentioned that one cannot write with both hands dont try with legs they are for nxt generation, with this trick you will be able to complete paper in 2 hrs but do it with caution so that other candidates do not copy you after all its not about how you perform but also about how others will perform
jokes apart , next year paper will be tough , write in points , do not write unnecessary information rest after mains result X_X
1. Read more than one newspaper. It helps in covering more topics. 2. Keeping up with the hobby of reading magazines like The Week, Outlook, India Today, and others if possible. I felt, some things that were there in my memory-out of general reading/interest and not having studied specifically for exam-helped in the answer paper. 3. Contrary to what others feel here, I think and I always think that there is enough time to think in the exam hall, no matter the pressure. If you can think quickly and coherently, you will have a beautiful answer. I panicked a little in GS Paper-1 and ended up not writing a five marker I knew!
1. watch big picture and ir related programs on rajya sabha and lok sabha tv 2. read monthly current affairs note of some classes after reading newspaper.. found visionias notes quite good
Well almost all the points have been covered very well but the most important from my side is GROUP STUDY. One can practice answer writing on a daily basis only if there is a group study - to achieve speed. Although I discourage group study but answer writing practice can only be achieved by it.
Nice to have u back. ekdum Arnold type announce kiya tumne "I am Back"
This was my 2nd and last mains. I suppose after attempting the papers, I felt that it doesn't matter how much you study ( I am referring to the depth of analysis blah blah!! ). all it matters is what you can scribble (yes not WRITE) in those 3 hrs.
English Language paper was tough and even students with decent english skills couldnt complete the paper.
Hindi was again tougher compared to last time. But anyone completing the papers should sail through IMHO.
Its absolutely not necessary to study 100 books for GS. Hindu/IE and NCERT would suffice. Questions were generic.
I heard some optional papers were tough. Sociology was decent, like last time. again the marking depends.
IMHO this year the ranks/selections would be dependent on 2 papers mostly 1) Essay and 2) GS IV And no one can predict what sort of marks he/she would get in these 2 papers. The marks of the candidates in GS 1,2,3 would be a bell curve around 95-110.
so, subjectivity or the art of writing answers would really really matter.
Hence All the best to everyone. we need this luck even more now after writing the papers.
Godspeed !!
The lady analysed and predicted quite a right. Hope it will be helpful to all like me who joined the forum a bit late.
