[Advice Needed] Selected in West Bengal PCS, Not getting Leave, How to prepare for Civils?

Hi All,

I have a query which I am not able to answer. If anyone of you are from WB PCS or the IAS, and if you can help me get a reply for this ForumIAS member, it will be a big help.

TIA

*****MESSAGE BEGINS**********
Sir,
. Though I miserably failed in 2017 UPSC mains examination. I had given State PCS examination of West Bengal while doing job. With very little effort I got selected as a Revenue Officer in Land Reforms department. By delaying police verification I delayed my joining. Now, the joining letter has come with a precondition to join within a month. So, I joined the service. But until now I was preparing for CSE 2018 rigorously. I am better prepared than previous year. But I have got a big trouble now. I am not able to get leave. Being not so financially strong, I am not getting enough courage to leave the job.
Please help me out in this situation.
Will there be departmetal proceedings or show cause against me if I just vanish?
Will it have bad effect on my career?
I badly want to get back to delhi and start preparation with full vigor. Please show some light.
your ardent follower

  • Hamaare ek mitr State exam se SDM bane hain. UPSC bhi dete rehte hain. Kabhi prelims kabhi Mains kabhi interview ke liye arzi de kar chhuti lete rehte hain.
Unnka bhi yahi rehta hai ke leave nahin milti. Par fir har baar mil jaati hai.

Ek aur mitr block development officer hain aur UPSC ke chakkar mein bin bataaye daftar se nadaarad rehte hain.
Aaj tak toh nahin nikaale gaye.
    Himmati aadmi hain waise.

Aap join kijiye, afsar ko efficiency dikhaiye kaam mein, thoda apna academic roop dikhaiye aur fir ek din bimaar ho kar leave without pay le lijiye.

Zyada phone ke uttar mat dijiyega agar office se aayein toh.
Bas thoda man management karni padegi.
Job bhi rahegi, UPSC bhi aur financial security bhi.

  • In state services it depends on your immediate senior. Like I joined in December 2015 and then they sent me for a training in Feb 2016. I did not attend the training and without informing them I just remained absent. For 2-3 months I got a lot of phone calls. In July 2017 I got a letter stating the reason for my absence and join immediately. After that no communication. In january this year I had an accidental encounter with my incharge. He asked me whether I will continue the job or not. He also told me that you can prepare while being in job. Some sort of advice or whatever. I said sir I will decide after the result. Still nothing is happening. So moral of the story is it all depends on your senior officials.

P.S. you will be terminated only after getting due opportunity to defend yourself. In state services things get managed.
