Help needed regarding UPSC preparation

Is it necessary to do Insights secure? I am doing Ias parliament's summary of yojana, epw, kurukshetra, dte, idsa(June to oct done), and now onwards will be doing insights editorial compilations(September 2017 onwards) too. The point is, will I have enough time after preliminary exam to learn the art of ans writing? And the sources which I am following is good to cover most of the issues ?
P.S.-Have done the basics for prelims, optional 50% and will be focusing on prelims from 1st January 2018

Yes I have. You won’t end up remembering more then 5-6%and write 2-3% in the exam, which such information overload.

This part is evident in your first two lines..insecurity of sources. Don't try to read every possible thing because even if you are able to do them now trust me you wont be able to do post Feb if its your first prelims lest you are ready to give yourself shock of +1 year ,god forbid.
Post prelims you wont be able to revise because if you see only one single thing ..insight secure it will run into thousands of pages for all these months leave alone other resources like epw, dte, yojana ,kurukshetra. Once you are unable to revise all the time given now is sheer waste.I have done the same and thats why i am telling you before hand .
Think logically too what for you are studying all these sources..mostly for paper 2 and 3 ..giving disproportionate time and that too with thinner retaining capacity which is inversely proportional to number of resources given the time constraint for multiple revisions post prelims.
People here have got 115-120 in paper 3 by simply reading vision with newspaper and in paper 2 better utilize time reading reports like ARC and emphasizing on syllabus rather running behind unknown topics from all possible sources.

There are people who have cleared exam just by reading one newspaper and one magzine vision ,insight or any other or may be only two newspapers alone and trust me these people constitute majority.
    Don't run behind sources .

So what should be done to avoid this ? Should we have consolidated topic wise notes ready before prelims ?
