Free workshops or seminars are organised by coachings before commencing a course.
I work in Delhi; targeting CSE - 14; self study.
Abundant advice regarding CSE preparation is available here and elsewhere on the net, so don't expect anything new in such brief programmes.
Thinking of attending one for basically two reasons, being all by myself here becomes kind of monotonous so to get the 'feel' and also to get an idea about the quality of such coachings just in case I plan to attend one later.
I have a couple of queries.
1. Is it worth my time to attend these seminars or workshops?
2. How to extract the maximum value if I attend one?
Thanks.

Its 30% advertisement
70% guidance (many of which you cannot find on net)
I had attended ALS workshop and found it very helpful-- atleast they dont encourage you to join a coaching and Jojo hemself said - "with the new syllabus- it is very much possible to crack IAS with self study".
But dont attend some like- "The Study" and "Kumars IAS"- which are totally bakwaas.
In today's The Hindu there is an advertisement for "D Kumar's" "Origin IAS Study Circle" free workshop on ' G.S. Economy', is it the same "Kumars IAS" you mentioned?
they are different coaching centres
But If you feeling bored at home, then only think of going to any of such seminars. (Blogs written by various toppers explains the things much better ! )
I am a bit lazy too !
