The enclosed seas in the low latitudes record relatively higher temperature than the open seas; whereas the enclosed sea in the high latitudes have lower temperature than the open seas. Why ?
reason 1 above is the first part of the answer.now if the sea is open it will have water mingling from oceans bringing cold currents in lower latitudes lowering the temperature and the temperature will be distributed over larger body mass by conduction,so open seas will have lower temperatures as both these faciilities wont be available to closed seas.
in higher latitudes the open seas water will mingle with warm currents as well as heat will be transferred from larger water body mass to open seas.again both these facilties wont be available to closed seas .
reason 2 above is not valid in this case as same air mass may be flowing above both closed and open seas but temperatures may be different due to aforesaid reasons.
