@DB, the times of Govind Jaiswal type successful IAS are gone who succeeded from despite misery..
The bitter and harsh reality is Lunatic DP Agrawal's "reform initiatives" have led to proliferation of GS coachings much much more than the number of coachings existing during two-optionals pattern and steep increase in the cost of living in the coaching hubs..
And if you look at the quality of candidates, since 2014 there is continuous low in the types of candidates getting success in exam, be it Tina Dabi or Rachit Raj- sabhi ke liye ek kahavat fit baithti hai- BANDAR KE HATH ME USTARA.. which means despite poverty of thoughts/ideas,, they are in coveted positions thanks to their one-time hard work in a lallu exam pattern sitting comfortably in New Delhi..
So many qualified IITians, NITians, other meritorious guys are defeated by RR or RS type candidates not because they have become unworthy, but simply bcoz they are not rightly positioned/placed... Position them in the same platform, eg same hostel, and take an exam, and you ll see kya aukaat hai RR, RS ya Tina Dabi jaiso ki.. At last those IITians, IIM grads,NITians, just become examples/testimonials/support to the acclaimed fact that- "See the exam is so tough"..

Don't worry friend.. Whatever be the situation, we will succeed.
Where to live in Delhi if one's budget is very low? Please suggest.
I will be doing Self study. It will be great if there is some fooding facilities nearby. Also environment should not be crowded/noisy.
P.S. - Will be joining Mains test series.
wazirabad near mukherjee nagar.you can get room at price as low as 4ooo. near karol bagh, shadipur is cheap, room rent 5-6 k, 6 min metro time to reach karolbagh.
What can be the average cost in ORN ? More than 2 lakhs is a lot !! If I want to live without sharing my room, then what can be the cost with tiffin services and all that. Can I get decent room like I don't want AC, wifi services and all that and my budget is around Rs 7000-8000 for room rent and I am planning to move in May.
10,000 for comfortable living without sharing in karol bagh/ORN....in sharing 13000 to 15000 for two..so 6500 to 7500 for each person in sharing....can come down further by 1000 with good bargaining skills....without bargaining they even increase it by 5000 for same room...my advise stay in sharing with two...I am also planning to move to karol bagh/ORN/Patel Nagar nearby areas....asap....although I have my family home and preparing from there in Delhi itself..but since I am away from coaching lanes...I feel moving there will increase my chances..slightly....chose good roomies.....it helps.

Btw I will suggest to search rooms on blue line towards Dwarka.
We are residing in Uttam Nagar..rooms are much cheaper.
Blue line means you need not to change metro to reach Karol bag.
Want to cover all my expenses in 5000-6000.
How are the fooding facilities there? Are there mess/dhaba nearby.
