If I select only IFoS preference in prelims form will my civil service attempt be counted also?

I have only two attempts left for civil service exam..so I was thinking of not giving an attempt this year and trying for Indian forest service ..but I have a doubt guys ...if I choose only ifos option from the drop down box and not choose the option of both (civil services and ifos) and attempt the prelims in June 2017 will my civil service attempt be also counted or will I still have 2 attempts left for civil services and only ifos attempt be counted?

No..if u select only ifos . Ur cse attempts will be intact.

Thanks for the reply ...also how many posts are there this year for ifos and how many average students are selected for ifos every year?
