The site is a collective effort and ought to bring togeatherness and harmony among aspirants , so that each one can benifit from the community effort
But there have been a number of instances of abuse and other issues which are plagueing the forum
I request mods to take appropriate (non legal) steps to solve the issue

1. Use OTP verification for new registrations , i know its costly but its needed desprately
2. Make captcha necessary for new discussions
3. As forum is running on vanilla fourms , more addons / spam checker plugins must be installed (ban common hindi cuss words , links to objectionable sites etc (also allow flagging of user )

Earlier Forum was predominantly stuffed with urban, middle-class aspirants who prefer to converse in English. Now aspirants from more secular backgrounds are joining it. Forum has broken the critical mass.
And most of the people here are adults - 25+. I think they can handle themselves among pushing and shoving online. If not, trust me, OTPs are not the solutions - they need to work on their maturity levels. And grow up from being mama's boys.
it is difficult to keep doing voluntary work for longer period of time. it is very time consuming and is quite unsustainable for an aspirant to continue the moderation along with studies, team of paid members is definitely a good idea.
Vice versa if someone is looking for something gainful, s/he will find it. It's what you seek.
You don't have to live on Forum for rest of ur lives. Maybe a year or two, tops. And then you'll fly away.
Grow some balls, get over it and get on with it.
i feel the same...... till there is no progress on personal level....no technical patches can be a sustainable solution.....See the status of democracy and bureaucracy.....no reforms..no matter how the ingenious is the system.....they all are suffering just...because...people are deterioration at the personal level........ let this respected forumias make the clarion call for the change......for this is the first step....for...future bureaucrats...and leaders..
better thing would be...
1.Make moderation more effective..
2. make the mechanism to filter inappropriate contents more robust.
3. otp and banning.....is just an expression of power from top and an attempt to move away from responsibilities which require moderators to be more active and vigilant.
4. Forumias rules are more inclined on commercial lines which only wants to attract more and more users and help them to expand their business.This mentality has also led to some of the problems.
5. Forum must also keep in mind that they are in competitive market where others like insight, iasbaba, etc too are trying to attract users. So there could be chances of creating distrurbance from their side to decrease popularity of forum.So forumias should make themselves effective enough to tackle such things instead of banning innocent users.
6. Old members and even moderators should grow up in their thought process.Today, itself on one thread i heard saying one respected old member (with all due respect) that it is chit chat thread which is the brewing ground for anti-forum behaviors. This is very similar when one says it is religion and god which is reason for all riots and bloodshed. Such immature conclusions will never help to reach to real problems which is mainly driven by personal likes and dislikes(personality cult).Have better moderators Try to have professional people to do this job rather looking for volunteers.
