Most of you are going to ignore this unsolicited advice but I am writing just in case .
I have appeared in 5 exams of UPPSC since I started preparing and my experience has been mixed. 2013- cleared pre, didnt write mains. (due to UPSC mains ) 2014- cleared pre- wrote mains- didnt qualify. 2015- did not write pre 2016 October- wrote mains- result not yet declared (1.5 years and counting) 2016 december - wrote PCS J mains- interview held in October 2017 and joining yet to come. 2018- mains is now deferred, but not planning to write anyway.
In all these years I have understood just one thing 1. worrying about prelims = waste of time 2. worying about incorrect questions = waste of time 2. worying about center and admit card = waste of time 3. worrying about court judgement = waste of time (read entire judgement of HC one day before 2016 pcs j mains exam) 4. worrying about appeal in SC = waste of time 5. worrying about CBI enquiry = waste of time. 6. comparing governments of the day= waste of time
Yes, this is a setback for most of you who compromised on UPSC preparation, thinking to give your all to the PCS mains. But the more time you waste, the less time you have now. DO NOT waste time in cursing your stars or the commission or the allahabadi student leaders or the yogi government. Please re-focus your strategy and start preparing for UPSC. Those who have exhausted their attempts in CSE or are not planning to write-keep working hard for 2017 mains because the exam will happen either in may or in sept (results may or may not come in next two years). Keep working and do not get de-motivated.
My best wishes with all.
Focus on RO or leave everything and prepare for UPSC?
