@coolbuddy bade bhai ji ...mera kaam hai scope chorna ...like he asked ...ssc kya hai .... pcs ke saamne ...agar comparison waali baat kare ..... itna uncha darza diya gaya hai constitution mai likha gaya hai state service commission ko ... ssc is yaar purely executive body hai .... to .... kaam kya rahega ...... yhi soch sakte ho ..baaki 4600 aur 4800 ki parwaah kon karta hai bade bhai ...... tum bolo .....

bhai i have seen ur thread as well ...as i dont know job profile of ur post but i have listened this post in cgl ....
if we talk about comparison of posts u r gazetted officer now ...and in central government ..... so as of now u have many facilities provided by govt ....... here we can not compare infrastructure provided by central and state govt u know as well ....u can be posted in rural area while working in state govt . but cto and bdo too are gazetted posts and as far as i know come in 5400 grade pay and they provides with u some authority .... so .. i will go for pcs rest ur discretion ........ but yaar question is why u r comparing bdo cto with aao ....u have sth in ur mind ..thats why .... with some inclined mind i replied u ..... . ssc is ssc ....... it has never given any post with some authority ..as far as i know . but pcs do this even in lowest pay grade .......
PS--- sorry i m not the perfect guy to reply ur query coz i dun know ur job profile ......

My main concern is authority (we call it Ruab in hindi). Though AAO is gazetted but provides u no authority. Work profile is to audit the accounts of government departments.
+ On wikipedia BDO and CTO are 4600 grade pay not 5400. Please clarify this too.
BDO 5400 GP.... CTO may be 4800 GP.... No posts of GP less than 4800 In upper PCS
In the MP PCS notification BDO is 3600 grade pay. No seprate cutoff in UPPCS notification
Bhai ye confirm hai BDO ka... BDO 3,4,5th choice pe fill karte hai log.... BDO is among the top posts of state services..... Development administration ka pillar hai BDO..... HP me toh PCS se post hi bas 3 nikalti hai mostly SDM, DSP and BDO, Tehsildar

MP aur Rajasthan ka mat poocho yaar.... Rajasthan me lower PCS nahi hota hai.... Vahan 3600 GP se 5400 GP tak ki sabhi post ek hi exam se fill hoti hai... Exam RAS ka post milti hai inspector ki 3600,4200 GP ki.....
But apne UP and UK me lower PCS ka alag exam hota hai... 4800 se neeche ki posts lower se fill hoti hai....
4800 GP and 5400 GP upper PCS se... Upper me sabhi posts badhiya hoti hai UP and UK me

bhai main notification dhoondh rha tha pcs kaa pay grade dekhne ke liye lapi mai tumhe dikhaane ko ...forum ki ek ladki ke photo kaa folder khul gaya ...thanks yaar ... aaj itne dino baad usski pics dekhne mil gyi .lol .. baaki 4600 nhi hai main sure hoon .... jo bhi ho cto aur bdo ki .....
