  • General observations -
    1) For 2 statement or 3 statement options start reading from the last statement.
    2) Options having more than 2-3 line are "Generally Correct" (though not Universal)
  • ye to exam ke baad wala discussion lag raha hai..
  • Art of tukka me ye kya suru ho gaya...
  • I just wanna share my one experience.

Last year in that fasal beema Yojana quesiton there was an option of "covering post harvest loss"

Gut feeling said that it should be correct as perhaps i have read it somewhere. But then logic comes into picture. I thought why would govt be so concerned about post harvest loss. Ek baar crop harvesting ke baad toh farmers ki responsibility ho jati hai na ke apne grains ka kya kare. aur waise bhi govt toh MSP deti hi hai farmers ko market price kam huyi toh. Ab govt crop sowing se leke post harvest and then selling tak, har moment ke liye thoḍi koi na koi provision degi schemes mein.

Bus yehi logic lagaya and woh post harvest wala option Mark nahin kara. Aur leke aa gaya 2.66 negative... :D
  • Iska matlab yehi hua ki agar prelims open book and phone exam hua toh phir bhi log ek threshold ke baad score nahi kar payenge.. :D :D hats off upsc.

Bhai, Kya logic de rahe ho :D
Post harvest part is the most riskiest time for a farmer.
Risks In transportation, storage and processing are very high because the rate of occurrence of these are very high as opposed to crop loss due to rain or any natural calamity.
These post harvest risks can very much happen before even govt procures them at MSP.

You would have got this question correct if you had thought more on what really happens during post harvest.

Aur last time wo Atal Pension Yojana waale question mein ek sentence tha ki spouse will get the full amount after death of the pensioner. Conventional wisdom is ki spouse ko half pension milti hai.
I thought ki yaar govt is supposed to be benevolent, especially for the weaker sections, wo kyon sirf half degi, especially since govt's isn't going to give more than 1000 bucks in any case. Bas wo sentence ko correct maan liya. :D
Govt ke programs, especially welfare waale, are mostly of a benevolent nature. Aap bhi maan lete ki sab cover karegi, sach ho jaata. ;)

couldn't resist to throw some funda of tukka shastra , as i got this right ..

With reference to Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, consider the following statements:
    1. Under this scheme, farmers will have to pay a uniform premium of two percent for any crop they cultivate in any season of the year.
    2. This scheme covers post-harvest losses arising out of cyclones and unseasonal rains.
Which of the statements given above is/are correct?

    1) only 1
    2) only 2
    3) Both 1 and 2
    4) Neither 1 nor 2

-> sentences which generalizes and covers everything tend to be false . here notice the pattern : Under this scheme, farmers will have to pay a uniform premium of two percent for any crop they cultivate in any season of the year. - discarded this option . leaving option 2 and 4 .
-> "both" and "neither" would be the last thing to consider , if all other things remains same . prompted to select option (2) , which turned out to be correct .

though it could be mere coincidence , but tukka accuracy have been good following these rustic rules .
