[frustrated]how much is enough!!(history and culture)

Hello all,
I have been trying to revise history and culture for last few weeks.(left medieval completely)
I have read and re-read the following books:
1. Ancient india class 11th old ncert
2. Fine arts 11th class
3. Ccrt for dances and paintings
4. Modern india old ncert
5. Bipin chandra struggle for independence

Yet everytime i take a new test, the depth of detail needed exceeds. Then i re read the whole thing again with the required depth. After giving a few tests(about 4 history dedicated and few full tests), it now seems that one can ask any trivial detail in this subject and one needs to learn each and every line.
Eg. In one of the tests i did a question regarding sangam litertature melkanakku and kilkanakku. Then in another test there was a question regarding the angas of melkanakku.

Similarly i did a question regarding jaina and buddhist literature in a test. Then in another test it went to subparts of jaina literature.

If it is like this then we can have 20 30 jaina text and similar number of buddhist texts.

Moreover i have realized that the more i learn, the more i get confused and forget even the basic things.(eg. I had to think a few minutes to recall the name vrahamihira(astronomer) after reading about jaina and buddhist texts)

So please someone guide me through this problem of "damned if u do, damned if u don't" by suggesting about "how much is enough for cse prelims"?

I have seen that on this forum there are people who have learnt the art of cracking prelims and have been doing it continously for last few years!! Please suggest

Thank you
