Books/Notes for Sale | Public Administration | GS-Manual

edited July 2013 in Miscellaneous
Hi all,

I was recently cleaning my room to remove old stuffs and make some space for various books needed for the new pattern. I have some books/notes/materials for Public Administration and also some GS Manuals and I intend to dispose the same. I am looking for people who might be interested in these books. I am basically quoting ~70% of the price which I paid for the book, as I am not here to make profit but just to make some room in my room. Lol. I am not really willing to sell them in piece-mill and would prefer those who would need the whole stuff. Say, I would prefer to sell Synergy's Pub Ad notes and the books to the same person. Please find the list as below.

Public Administration:-
1. CrackIAS notes for Pub Ad - I paid INR 3500. Expected price - 2400.
2. Synegy's (Mohanty) notes for Pub Ad - I joined their classroom program. However, they quoted 3500 for Postal course over the phone. Expected - 2400.
3. Class-notes (Hand-written) - I had purchased them for INR 600 (Before I decided to join his class) Expected price - 400.
4. Laxmikanth - Pub Ad - I purchased it from from Flipkart for INR 400. Flipkart now quotes INR 374. Expected price - 250.
5. Administrative Thinkers - Prasad and Prasad - Flipkart quotes INR 200. Expected price - 150.
6. My own class-notes :P - I am willing to give it for free to whosoever buys Mohanty's/CrackIAS/either/both material.
7. Public Administration - Super 50 - Shubra Saxena - I am willing to give it for free to whosoever buys Mohanty's/CrackIAS/either/both material.
8. Public Administration workbook - Pearson - I am willing to give it for free to whosoever buys Mohanty's/CrackIAS/either/both material.
9. Previous year papers - UPSCPORTAL and KBC-NANO (As Mr Mohanty used to follow it in the class) - I am again willing to give it for free to whosoever buys Mohanty's/CrackIAS/either/both material.

General Studies Manuals:-

1. CSAT Manual 2012 by Pearson - The price quoted on Flipkart for CSAT 2013 Manual is INR 961. Expected price - 600.
2. CSAT by Manish Ranjan - The price quoted on Flipkart for latest edition is INR 446. Expected Price - 300.
3. General Studies 2012 by TMH - Paper 2 - The print price is INR 650. Expected price - 350 (As I don't recall what price I paid for it)

Note - I intend to dispose GS Manuals as I used several different books for different portions of CSE Prelims - Paper1 and I focused mainly on CL's test series for Paper2. Thereby, these books are no-longer required by me.

The notes/books are in mint condition. Do let me know in case of any further clarifications. Interested folks can drop me a message. I intend to dispose them ASAP. And yes, I am based out of NCR.

Cheers!

PS - Postage and handling additional :P

  • @fallen_leaves Which optional you're planning to go ahead with? Why did you drop Pub Ad?
Another doubt I'm having regarding prelims approach.. You relied solely on CL test series for CSAT? How did it help and how many marks are you expecting in that paper?

    TIA

@JasmeetSingh I am going ahead with Geography. I dropped Pub Ad because I always had an interest in Geography and there being just 1 optional now, I choose the one that was of interest to me. Moreover, I never found Pub Ad that interesting, barring a few selective portions and I am glad I don't have to study it anymore. So there is no academic reasoning but just a matter of personal choice! Though I wish there were no optionals, GS though interesting, is so vast and humongous! :(

About Prelims - Paper2, I had a reasonable percentile in CAT (twice) coupled with the preparation for Placements meant that there wasn't anything/much in Paper-2 that I hadn't already covered earlier. So I mainly banked on practice and for that I had joind CLs test series. They were pretty helpful, more so for Paper-2. For eg. passages make up a large part of Paper-2, and the relatively higher level of passage in CLs test helped me greatly. I didn't even need to underline a single line anywhere and could comprehend the passage and the related questions on the go!
  • Fallen leaves... is the offer still open???
