The discourse in our country amazes me. Intelligence agencies intercept messages to and from a paki boat presumably carrying arms/ explosives / terror consignment. CG aircraft locate the boat and a CG vessel gets close and asks it to stop for boarding and search.. It is moving well away from traditional fishing routes. instead of stopping it switches off its lights and tries to escape. It is chased - warning shots are fired. rather than surrunder it burns itself up. It burns for a few hours. That would not have happened if it had been engaged by heavy weapons.Even if it was sunk by the CG- it was entirely justifiable.The problem is our Human rights NGOs. Their concern is only with the HR of terrorists and Heroin Smugglers. They arent bothered if 165 or 200 Indian citizens get killed. their primary job is to target our security forces to a level where they become dysfunctional and refuse to open fire on terrorists on land or sea.All other countries would have praised the alertness and devotion to duty of their CG. in our country they have faced a non- stop chorus of abuse for doing their job. A sincere and honest RM who tried to defend them has been maligned so viciously. I hope arms sales lobbies are not behind this vilification campaign.
