How is English literature as an optional subject?

I want to know how is English literature as an optional for UPSC?
Is it a scoring subject? or being a subjective paper it is less scoring?
I am an engineer,never studied literature,though my English is good.
Can I do it if I start it 5 hours a day now in 3.5 months?
Earlier my original optional was geography,in first attempt ,but I am seeing that after failing in pub ad brutally everybody is going towards geography,to make it a new pub ad.
So should I change my optional now?
How is English literature, can it be completed in the remaining time?
I am from Jaipur and do not intend to go Delhi for coaching.
It's bhedchal there.
