How the changes in ESE 2017 affects the IAS (CSE) aspirants?

How the changes in ESE 2017 affects the IAS (CSE) aspirants who are having Engineering subjects as their optional?

Comments

  • The new GAT paper and more weightage for conventional papers make the ESE prep more useful for CSE. This change seems to beneficial for people preparing for both the exams.
  • I m from mechanical and I saw the new Syllabus, no drastic change in conventional except few mtech related topics added but it doesn't have any relationship with cse so u have to prepare separately and second thing is the now there are 3 stages so the mains part of ese might will fall in the same month of cse prelims since both exam are different it might be difficult for a student to prepare simultaneously with cse prelims
  • They have eliminated GS and included new syllabus... is it still feasible to have engineering as optional?
