badhayi ho selected logon ko...shubham kya rha result??? galuji and anya
    Ho gaya bhai
Congrats Punditjee... Me too got in...

But in all earnestness, 81/96 ie. 84.38% is one hell of a cutoff for a prelims exam. They should have increased the seats even if it meant taking people in reserve.

Anyways, congratulations to all those who made it...
  • Out with 80/96... feeling like hell :(

I did some number crunching. The results are below:

MPPSC took 16.59 times the number of vacancies for general. (2174/131)

Overall they took 17.49 times the number of vacancies. (4462/255)

For OBCs, they took 20.78 times the number of vacancies (665/32)
Even for SC this number is 18.05 times.

If they would have taken the multiplier to be 20.78 for all categories many more deserving general candidates would've made it. Exactly 548 more general category candidates would've made it to mains and the cutoff would have been reasonable: 75-76. I personally don't see any difference between a guy getting 75 and one getting 85 in such a vague and easy paper. In the end it all boils down to luck.

They literally have been unfair to the general category.
  • @TonaldDrump Bhai kaise late ho yaar itne marks, kuch tips hum gareebo ko bhi de do.
Bro, this is my first attempt, didn't really prepare well. I am generally inquisitive and have a decent knowledge about things (about MP as well). I just knew the answers to around 80 odd questions, rest were intelligent guesses.

For an exam with similar difficulty, I might score 70+ without preparation, but getting 80+ won't be that easy every time. Probably just lucky this time :)
