anybody interested in knocking some science into religion? Let's assume the null hypothesis that, H0: India has become an intolerant society.
Now let's reject that. If we can't then the hypothesis stays. Kapish?
Tolerance is the state of acceptance within reasonable limits of variation of an object. As such, it is a state of being, a concept, that is indifferent to the nature of object it relates to. It is completely natural to start looking into the burning issues that we find around us. But we must explore each significant facets of the society and the tolerance levels on each in order to take a call on the collective tolerance of society. Religion, though significant, is but only one facet.
Can we examine growth of India's intolerance when it comes to Gender, Sexuality, Economic Equality, Social Justice, Caste & Linguistic Divisions, etc.
Aamir has freedom to say anything. Anyone has the right to say anything within the limits set by our constitution in FR. Those who object to speaking go fuck yourself. If any problem file a suit and write rebuttal. Don't attack the person, disapprove the ideology or thinking. Is he right? Its debatable. I do think he is completely wrong. Irrational elements were present from eternal times. Now not just one community but all religious groups have become more conservative. Its "Punarmushiko Bhava" or "Turn again into rats". He is my favorite actor just for being in Andaz Apna Apna. Do I trust his mental faculties? No, for me. Reason being he said AIB was obscene and Delhi Belly was sane, he cried after watching Katti Batti (Really!), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Sallu fans spare me!). He also slammed problems in Satyameva Jayate including doctors. I don't think he even understands a bit about the life of doctors. Although he arrives championing causes it is of as much use as toothpick in a burger and reason numerous for the same. Its pure hypocrisy. For an Atheist like me the single reason being he in PK (For a involved actor) ran pillar to post about dialing the wrong number when he had dialed the same a year or two ago. And its not a personal attack. Its for me that his championing ended simply. The Media has the habit of asking any random fellow (Probably with a Khan surname or Foreign degree) about Intolerance and jumping on whatever he/she allotting disproportionate time in useless TV debates and Newspapers to fill headlines for months. That's their habit. Indian Media is at best Rakhi Sawants long lost sister. It helps the cause of diverting attention from more important issues. As religion sales it breaking news every time. It will obfuscate the debates and stall important legislations. The BJP is trapped in the same bogey that the Vajpayee government was baited into. Why I am scared? We would be drawn into a never ending debate over Religion and it will harm the poorest of the nation. The Economic reforms that we wanted to see will be hovering around without little success and similarly the welfare measures will too bite the dust in times to come. The Congress was short of ideas and BJP stalled Parliament citing every issue now and then. It should realize its mistake now. The fringe will always be there throughout the spectrum. Don't feed them. Clickbait news websites themselves are claiming others as clickbaits. The baits are simple Bhakt, Modi, RSS, Muslim, Hindu, Bollywood, India etc etc. Certainly these days journalism had reached a never recovering low. The more easily we fall into the trap of fighting with each other the better the purpose of few is served. If all of us will ignore this hyperbole will die a slow death. May for the better this noise dies down for constructive actions and better sense prevails over all stakeholders.
And for those who care its really difficult to realize how reprehensible religion is. For a born Vedantic Hindu turned atheist jobless fellow in love with a culturally Muslim girl its really difficult sometimes. Yes religion has to evolve and ultimately die for Science but at times its too much orthodoxy that scares. If we all try a bit ourselves to modernize our nation free of these stigmas than we can fight any problem may that be a post apocalyptic demon. )
I wish the same energy was put into setting things right in this nation. Roads. Healthcare. Sexual violence. Poverty. Education. Women's empowerment. Justice. Ending corruption. Political accountability. No scams. No child sex abuse or marital rape. No children begging on the streets along with transgenders?
Wouldn't we be a safer country? Wouldn't our patriotism mean more than this? Broader than this narrow jingoism?

The problem is that u cann't say that muslims are intolerant by nature n islam is an intolerant religion. Otherwise u will be branded as right wing fanatic. And yes, terrorists have no religion. Yeah, that is another thing that most terrorists practice islam.
People keep ranting 2002 , 2002 , 2002.
Listen folks, 2002 happened because godhra happened. Minority ho toh aukaat me raho warna pel diye jaoge. Kasam bajrang bali ji ki. I love this gujarat model of containing intolerance. No riots happened after that.
Alexander came to india. Indo-greeks like sakas, kushanas, satvahanas came to india. It only enriched our culture. We all know what happened when islam came to india. (Please don't give bullshit of taj mahal, red fort, qutub minar etc. Many architecture was built after razing existing ones. like qutub minar was made after demolishing a temple.) .
Go in a "muslim area" of any city n just try to talk to any girl. Forget that, even if your bike will touch someone, it can flare up like anything. Police cann't enter in uniform in these areas. These things happen in delhi, mumbai but we are secular n we must ignore all this.
Partition happened due to a wayward like jinnah. Muslims had no role in it. 10 lakh hindus died because of fringe , lunatic elements. )
Intolerance of Islam is the biggest challenge to not only india but entire humanity. Other religions are also intolerant but intensity of intolerance is relatively very low.
PS- Let's see how much tolerance moderators of this forum have. I fear getting banned after having written the truth so explicitly.
This is exactly why Dr Ambedkar did not add the word secular in the constitution and why he did not convert to Islam.
You are right, Muslims won't stop until they convert India into a dar ul Islam state.
we have farm house in Bareilly district in uttar pradesh..muslim .population of bareilly is increasing at rate much greater than other religions..... we feel quite unsafe now we know once population crosses 50% our game is over we would have to sell our all land at very low prices....non of my relatives want to buy property in uttar pradesh the reason is simple law and order, riots, jehadi elements in mullah mulayam administration, remember wahabi azam khan role in famous muzaffarnagar riots.........
this is not the only problem 1.musims do not send their girls for higher studies(they are damn rich)....hindu girls on daily basis have to cross crowded parts on cycles to go to college all jehadi boys pass comments and evetease them.police will not act (mulayams secularism in place)...this is the situation when we have 35% muslim population in our area......what future i should expect for my children after 30 -40 years from now?????? don`t brush it just another act of young boys galti ho jati hai jawan ladko se(mulayam singh epic words)
2.last year i heard mullah of local mosque ranting about killing innocent muslims in Palestine and Kashmir(i was shell shocked to hear Kashmir word in loud speaker)
3. few months back there was tension between rajputs and muslims in my area reason.......
rainy season was on rajput girls have to cross a bridge over river on cycles on seeing girls muslim boys would take off all clothes and come on road from the river..to tease girls(imagine plight of young girls and we give lecture about girl child....blah blah blah) they were warned .....but in wain atlast rajputs gave the treatment... Now started secularism game and plot of victim-hood...
Now tell me SHOULD I CONSIDER LEAVING MY PLACE TO SOME BETTER PLACE......or should i chant secularism mantras...all secular gyanis if all is so good why do we see separate housing societies for muslims and all other religions..
how many seculars have guts to live in batala house colony in delhi????

Essence !!
Politicians and Media only talk Muslims and their issues 24/7.
Some pampered Khan talks about intolerance towards Muslims and we have debate on that in the parliament.
Muslim votebank > Development.
