Bank PO job vs Higher education

Hello folks

Cheers!

I gave IBPS exam and cleared it this time. I am confident and ready enough to clear interview too. But I have problem in deciding what is best for me, a bank PO job or higher education. I am an engineer by profession and last month left job at one MNC factory at Baddi to be bit serious about civil services. As a backup I thought I will give gate exam and get admission into Mtech prog in IIT or NIT and keep attempting CSE while doing phd too later on until I exhaust alll attempts and clear CSE. At least if not civil servant in worst case scenarionI can be a lecturer or professor after some years down the line.

But I gave IBPS exam casually without thinking anything and cleared it but all bank choices are randomly arranged. In fact I just haad filled the form and IDK Who PO is? what does exactly PO do? How much salary PO gets? Is this kind of frustrating job? My one friend told me that in PO you can be posted anywhere in country, even just kms away from border or in naxalite areas or in highly undeveloped areas. Yes I do have little problem with these cos I have mostly been to metro cities and really unaware of rural India. Also I often listen PO job is bad and not good. Is this true? Do we get time to study after working hours? Please give honest review, I am kind of immature person and really not aware of these things. All my friends family and seniors are asking to join it to have 'backup'. Please help me in getting a picture of this PO job so that I can have clear picture what to do :)

Cheers

  • U seem like confused, immature & afraid. U want to pursue too many things at a time which wl divert ur energy & concentration. Just focus on civils and hv a backup in hand whether job or higher studies. Don' t pay heed to rumours.
Job whether po or mnc or central u hv to take extra pain for preparation with it so make urself flexible to work study for 24 hrs a day

  • A Probationary Officer (PO) in a bank (usually a public sector bank) is also called a Management Trainee (MT). After being selected through a highly competitive selection process, a candidate joins the Bank. Upon joining he is given intensive training. As candidates from several different academic backgrounds join a Bank, the training can include knowledge of Accounting Procedures, Bank procedures, overviews of various functions of a Bank such as marketing, loan approval, due diligence handling, etc. Therefore a PO learns a lot during the initial training period. 70-347 dumps
