im satisfied with my preparation.
my target...is 1000
for getting proper IAS with home cadre,
my medium is hindi,
friends,
mera sawaal yeh hai ki
kin papers mere marks increase hone ke scope hain?
my target is....
600 marks...in opt+essay+gs4,
250 marks...in gs1+gs2+gs3
150 marks...in interview,
is it possible???

One of the biggest weakness in ur personality is that u r self obsessed. I guess u r same girl who said after ur interview - main toh IAS ban gayi with home state cadre, see u in mussorie n all. I have seen video in which gaurav aggarwal said that he was not satisfied with his preparation. I wonder how u r making such tall claims.

^^ instead of targeting marks, focus on how u can get good content in ur answers. Marks toh jhak maarke chale aayenge

1. Find papers that you scored lowest and highest in.

2. Read both. One will reduce your loss and the other will improve on your strong points.

3. Read more than write. Answer writing is important, but don't overdo it.

4. Focus more on current affairs. Leave static parts for last. Static questions are too difficult and waste more time for the same reward.

5. Make sure that you don't make silly spelling and grammatical errors.

6. Think for 15-20 secs before jumping into an answer. Try to fix-up a structure in your mind.

7. Devote 10% of the time during essay papers in chalking out a skeleton in the rough work.

8. Don't take extreme or unconstitutional positions.

9. Write in short sentences and short paragraphs using simple language.

10. Don't be afraid of using bullets and points or flowcharts if they help.

11. Never overshoot the word limit even if you have leave out points. Leave out unimportant points, but make sure that your answers are balanced.

12. Finish the paper if you can. Don't piss off the examer by concocted bovine excrements.Leave questions that you know nothing about.

13. Remember - common sense is the enemy. It misleads often. Don't depend on it. Use knowledge and not notions.

14. Sleep well on the night before your exams.Eat well. Drink water. Carry water into the hall.

15. Stay away from the question paper till all the exams are over.

16. Stay away from ForumIAS paper discussion threads till all the exams are over.

17. Pick a pen that works and carry spares. Make sure that you are comfortable writing with it. Try it out before. Experiment with different brands.

@RoopKiRani : Similar position (I was also a 1st timer w/o much prep) but 50 marks less in total and that too in essay (91). What worked for you in essay?
