  • any idea what is OBC cutoff?
  • Paper 1: 80.66
    Paper 2: 145
    Total: 226

Cleared Prelim but unfortunately not Mains...
  • might sound a little dumb..but how does upsc zero in on a cut off number or is it after they get all their mains seats candidates through...cut off doesnt indicate difficulty of a paper ..does it..2011 gs paper was more tricky than 2012...csat was easier of 2012 over 2011..

Good part. UPSC is moving towards Accountability and Transparency. These sure would help enhance confidence! Kudos to Mr. DPA. Pattern Changes. Answer Keys. Prelims Marks. And even Mains marks. Good stuff! :D

I better get back to my books, else all these would be of no use!

128 in Paper-I :-B That's got to be the highest!
  • God knows what would it be on 26th. After one year of preparation for P1, its still P2 that steals the show it seems, Majorly. Just my opinion! :|

P1 reaches saturation after a point. P2, UPSC has a pretty different outlook compared to that of CL etc, as the keys prove! What to do! :O I guess I am thinking a little too loudly!
If that's the case then you have a nice thought process...
@Maxi Thanks! Though, right now, I have no idea what you meant!

Did anyone file a RTI for prelim and main cutoffs?

You're right in guessing. It's that they set a number for candidates to qualify for mains lets say 12000. Now they find out the lowest marks at which they get the required number of qualified candidates lets say 209. Now all the people who got 209 & more will be declared qualified. Hence the no of qualified number is not an exact figure like 12000 or 13000. Its usually a random number like 12574 candidates qualified. Got it?
  • Did anyone file a RTI for prelim and main cutoffs?
I guess some people like Mrunal have already done that and we'll get to know in a few days the exact details...
  • mine is

    paper 1-90.66
    paper 2-159.18
    total(rounded off)-250
