With the new service preferences upsc had given hope to those who marginally miss some service and willinf to join them like me who are willing to join them at the age of 32,,,,,,please be united so that this year no seat gets lapsed and all those next in the merit gets chance as many in the selected list will noy get preferredservice and the seat will remain vacant
Reserve list is different thing its not a waiting list,,,,1236 selection out of 1364 vacancies because 127 reserved candidates selected on general merit,,,,,now reserved list of 127 general and 127 reserved category candidates has been kept by upsc,,,,now if reserved candidates out of those 127 selected on general merit gets service from general seat one candidate from reserved category getd in but if he gets service from reserved category one candidate of general reserve list gets in,,,,,,,it has nothing to do with the seats remaining vacant due to non joining of previously selected candidates getting lower preferred service,,,,,with the new service preferences initiative this year many of these seats will remain unallocated and I think all those candidates missing marginally should come together to claim those services
I agree. I am of the opinion that in an examination of the toughness and standard of the civil service exam, it is only fair that no deserving candidate is deprived of an opportunity if a seat falls vacant. I think we should wait for the results and see if we have missed the final cutoff by a slight margin; and then maybe take a decision about approaching the courts. Everyone here has worked hard and obviously deserves a fair chance.
@dukeinbattle I think most of reserved cat people will take seats from reserved category only as they will get better services from there…Like an OBC candidate might be getting IPS from his 250 rank but may get IAS from reserved category… my query is my rank is on 590s…So if out of these 127 candidates selected on general merit ..if 100 have taken services from reserved category then effectively my rank will move up by 100…
