What UPSC expect out of our Answers?

Hi friends,
i am newly joined in mathematics community, inclining of taking maths as an optional,
I have found IMS Solution(you all will be knowing them already).
Just want to ask if in this the correct way we should write the solution?
Seniors Need your suggestion, based on experience how UPSC evaluate our Solutions. Is it the bookish style or Normally how we used to write, or some other way.
Please suggest. Cause after seeing "Mathematics guys who failed/cleared mains 2014" thread,(and assuming GS has not gone utterly bad) i am feeling that we are not providing the solution as UPSC expect. I saw people writing abt moderation theory, i am not sure about that however(reason being i feel UPSC will not be taking any revenge from those who take mathematics for no reason, for them every optional is equal(as every optional is checked by specialist so that specialist will be leaning or u may say soft corner towards the subject and will be knowing the importance of that particular subject, specially if it is maths, so there is no reason for a mathematician to give less marks to fellow mathematicians).)
I request you all to suggest. ihave attached the file for your ready reference. Mature suggestions are appreciated.
