We need to list sources for each topic in the syllabus and master each topic... Crowd sourcing is the only way given the hugeness of syllabus... Count me in!!
right now i am doing ancient (note making)...+Map (covered 70 percent). if someone is doing medival/modern/world....we can exchange......and meet once in a week in delhi....
guys wat is the highest optimistic score actually possible in this optional?I saw someone saying he scored 167 in p1 in 2014 and there were a few with 125-140 in p2.So does this mean with full effort+luck im qstn/maps one can realistically get 280-300(considering 2014 csm liberal marking) in this optional?Seniors pls guide bcs I feel only with such a score to a majority of us serious candidates can ensure decent marks and selections and the return of hist optional otherwise we would have to depend to int+essay+gs+watmot,right?
Realistically speaking p2 should be scored off well..p1 becomes unpredictable with maps and some twisted questions in section A ...while most of the section B is great but question on culture / art/ can create a problem...i still think p1 can be scored off well... However with present marking scheme scoring 270 seems a bit difficult... Thinking of300 plus score is quite dreamy...obviously we would see some who will score 270+ but majority would be near abt this score or below... Marks in GS and esaay will be important Because as we have seen some toppers with history (this is what is being said that they have history) have scored heavily in interview.. But as we know upsc is very unpredictable... Who knows maybe history may give many rankers....so let's be hopeful.
I am in.. I am in Delhi...Come what may, we have to be optimistic...I think answer writing daily( even if we are writing one question) is the need of the hour...just because Prelims is near, we cannot leave our Optional...Beside, it will only aid in the Prelims preparation because of the weightage involved...
