Dipin Sir Classes Grievance

Now, I am posting this here as a last resort since my issues have been unanswered by forum and I believe I need to put an honest review of these classes

COURSE DETAILS

1. Fee - 26,500
2. Promise -
Complete CA coverage of Pre & mains and classes every weekend
i.e Around 8 classes a month

ISSUE
Right from August, there hasn't been a single month where they have not cancelled our classes for Trivial reasons like for a new batch, for new interview classes, Every time an SMS is sent that due to "UNAVOIDABLE REASONS", the classes are being cancelled. At least 2 classes (sometimes even 4) were cancelled each month.

You can check the noticeboard yourself- https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vREGU12oUn-ClOO2An0R15iFwidY2YaAezRQL3rWb363ymHVyjwGbKK-pqLL1DJjm8BhfPMSok8wJUo/pubhtml?gid=1461816035&single=true

Also, the classes are not postponed but straight away cancelled. It went on for this till February and Then I decided to raise a complain and sent a mail. Guess what I received an SMS within 2 days - "ForumIAS Current Affairs Classes for 2019, all the batches, will be suspended w.e.f from Friday (i.e. 8th February 2019). Will resume PT Revision Classes from (CA Batch 1 & 2 - 23rd Feb,2019 and CA Batch 3 from 25th Feb).

This was a 2-week off since "we needed a break from Mains approach" (Yes that's the reason  )
Now again, I raised the same complaints and I was assured that my issue would be forwarded to management. No classes will be cancelled further

Why am I posting this here now?
Today, again on March 9 at this critical time, the class has been cancelled due to "unavoidable reasons". Now, I want to tell you all that CA till September (only) has been covered and Sir had announced in the class that it would take 2 classes to finish one month (Although he is taking 2.5 classes). Given that 11 weeks are left before June 2 and around 7.5 months of current affairs still remain along with Budget, Survey and what not, how can a responsible institute cancel classes AGAIN at this juncture

Why Discuss.forum ?
I don't feel any other thing is making them hear. I feel robbed of my money as 8 classes were never delivered. Also, I placed my trust on forum for the MGP which is another story to tell. I am posting this here After raising several complaints at the institute and talking to several mentors. I enquired what were the "unavoidable reasons". I don't know whether my classmates feel the same or not but I want the institute to know that you have accountability towards your students and you just cannot get away with anything random

    Seems True!
I don't have any issues wrt quality of classes but the issue is - He is NOT taking classes due to these "unavoidable reasons" (Mystery continues) Plus he also promised some tests and I don't know where is the time to do all this. And then they send messages like "Forum IAS loves you :) "

Let's see, whether it happens or not.
I am not among these vibrant group of youth that constitutes the common mass today. I am among those intellect group of youth who will lead the nation tomorrow.

no this doesn't happen here . yes it is not the platform for discussing it , and it is against rules and i personally will want to close it as academy is completely different from discuss . but its communicated from very top that no genuine discussions against forum should be closed or deleted .

  • Thanks for the feedback.

I subscribed to mains 365 for 2017, they at least delivered on what was promised.

End of day, unless students have difficulty understanding.. it's better to rely on self preparation. Supplement newspaper with monthly magazine quality YouTube videos - Big picture and In depth of RSTV. Next IAS has put up some quality videos (not exhaustive at all)

    Dear @Ganesh_Gaitonde ,

We totally understand your concern as you are anxious about how the syllabus will be completed in the stipulated time period.

The cancellation for Saturday and Sunday is owing to a certain personal emergency of the faculty. He was here to take the class on Saturday but has to leave the 11 AM batch in between and rush back home.

Firstly, of all scheduled classes which are over 50 classes, in total 10 classes have been cancelled including the most recent one.

Secondly, we have to factor in that faculty is a human and there can be a problem or two which he has to take care of in his day to day life and hence there have been certain cancellations.

Thirdly, there have been 3 - 4 instances when the classes have been cancelled owing to the demand of students. While that might not be a solid argument but we at ForumIAS tend to give in to the student's demand.

Fourthly, The classes are not postponed but cancelled: The classes have been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. Postponement of the class to a weekday may lead to over 50% of students not able to attend the class.

Fifthly, the break for mains is not just to change the orientation but also to provide a break to students and faculty to start afresh. And to make sure that the quality of the program doesn't decline.

We would like to assure you that any program that is initiated or launched at ForumIAS consider above-mentioned issues and then the duration/tenure of the plan is decided. And that is why we have classes post prelims as well.

We would like to assure you that all your prelims oriented classes will be completed by the end of March / 1 st week of April.

Our accountability towards students lies in the fact that how helpful were we in their preparation and their performance in the final exam.

Finally, for ForumIAS every student is important and that is why we look forward to addressing your grievances. If you are still unsatisfied and or have any issues with any other program of ForumIAS as well write to us at shantanu@forumias.academy.

Sir, Although I Would love to believe it but I do not think that the course can be completed through any means by April First week. Also, Sir 38 classes have been held while 10 have been cancelled (Excluding the break). If we include the break, 14 classes have been cancelled. Also,The faculty might be needing the break, but students do not as we already had got many breaks in the past. Another thing is, you have ignored the 2-week break that was given when Sir was out of town i.e. 1 Dec & 2 Dec also count as scheduled classes (which is not mentioned on noticeboard). So if we take each weekend with 2 scheduled classes, Around 16 classes (out of 62) have been cancelled i.e. 25% have been cancelled. I have done many classes in the past and nobody has had a poorer score than Forum! Even my Friends are asking me to demand a refund. Still, I would take your word for it and would wish that you deliver what you have promised. Thank you for replying !
