UPDATE : Interview Preparation for CSE 2018 will now be held on November 2 | 5PM | Registration

*****UPDATE********
Dear All,

Due to large number of candidates having UPPCS examination this weekend, the Interview Preparation Session will now be conducted on November 2, Friday at 5PM.

Dear All,

ForumIAS will be holding an Open Session on Interview Preparation for candidates who have appeared for CSE 2018. The Session will deal with the questions as below

Is there at all a need for preparing for the personality test?
How to begin the preparation?
How to prepare hobbies and background information?
How to prepare Current Affairs for the Personality Test?
Some Dos and Donts for the Personality Test
Which coaching offer best Mocks for Personality test?
Why do some candidates invariably score less in the Personality Test
What can be done to improve your score

The goal of the session will be to correctly orient you to the Interview preparation and the content of the session would range from obvious to eye-opening, depending on your experience with the Civil Services Interview.
We especially encourage candidates who have not been able to score well in previous attempts to join us and see if they are able to make sense out of what is being said and are able to identify any issues with their preparation.

Time: 5 PM
Venue: ForumIAS Offline Guidance Center, 2nd floor, IAPL House, #19 PUSA road, Opp. Metro Pillar 95, Karol Bagh, Delhi-05

hmm i dont think so bro because they said "open session " in the invitation and not a closed one only for mgp students .
  • Rather than asking repeatedly just Trust yourself rather than any coachingwala. Practice lot of mocks with friends family.
In upsc there is nothing that can assure selection and nothing that can stop your selection.

  • Forum and Insights are the coaching centres which fear going online. That is one of the reason they will never grow beyond a point.

  • Alright said:

They might publish the names of those who get a rank as their students (from those who attend). Perhaps that's why they made registration compulsory.
    Prelims 2, Mains 2
    Sociology optional

    Happy to help.
  • Please make this available online. It's a sincere request.
  • @ForumIASOfficial we are already forum's offline student, please make it online

  • A Four Page printout with 3 case studies and Annexure of Prof DP Agrawal lecture which he gave in some coaching (in Hindi) [[I don't have a camera phone so ask someone else to upload it here]]

    Important takeaway (for me)
Keep preparing for next year and don't waste time in these months (waiting for result)

Just make a separate register for Interview Prep and keep adding new information.

Develop a habit of answering precisely (this has to do with writing the answers in register) - one to three line answer max and stick to the question asked.

Provide simple answers for the tricky questions like why IAS? as flowery answers gets the negative impression.
Also there is difference between Fact based questions and opinion based question. For example, if they ask how many houses in your town/village has been electrified in last year - then the answer has to be in DIGIT and you can not say May I guess and reply like of around 60%. Similarly what's your view on creation of new state (like Telangana) then you should not jump to conclusion in your first line as this is a opinion based question.

Some usual Gyan like every keyword of your DAF should be throughly prepared along with current affairs, graduation subject and optional subject.

Take atleast 3 different mocks (recommended ones are Forum, Chanakya & Samkalp)
And form a peer group based on same home-state/hobby/profession
And some stories in this session was somewhat similar to the CGP Orientation-1 available online.

Please Add your takeaway and approach towards the interview prep.
