@Amrendrabahubali , don't be silly . We all know how cases was malaigned to cornered then political rivalries in our country. Get learned. Am confident this ips trainee 'll get back his work in tn cadre in couple of months if u know Indian governance systems reputations

N here court is talking about conviction not just FIR ..get learned get informed get an idea about integrity n I find it fishy that people here are trying to save a tainted guy against whom evidence has been found prima facie ,in a cognisable 420 IPC case that too after being a public servants. Speaks volumes about aspirants here.shameful and worrisome for the future of the country!!
  • @Amrendrabahubali , hare bhai!law is long time proves menace to democracy by large extent .like India.wait n see there's something fishy behind scenes. How ib officers of 4 came egmore girls high school?. Why they suddenly act like cinema plot to get after his wife n friend at same time? We all know even bloodiest murderrs roar their heads high in public places but he was caught by head mistres or invigilator of on duty officer. It's more suspicious by claiming he was caught by accidently, rather whole plot of orchestrated by officials bring something beyond understandable by common masses. Wait n see how things 'll carried out

No, but there are a lot of strings attached, he as an IPS must have used his power to clear the security check, Someone from his coaching may have given the tip about the cheating. There are many things attached to this case. I mean why was IB there, was he even checked before going in the exam, was it politically motivated.and all such questions.
  • What political motivation needed to catch a cheater?
2 kinds of venoms there in society
    1. Who try to impose majority and try to subjugate minority
    2. Who trying to appease minority and trying to show caste, religious card every single time.
Even in using toilet they may show their cards!

  • He was cheating in the exam and got red handed.
His wife hiding her face while arrest.

If even a minute conspiracy involved to frame them he or she would speak out to the reporters instead of hiding their face in shame.

After doing criminal offences they can't expect any leniency or fairness etc.

Whether this is one time offence (but it not looks like so) or he used same technique to clear previous attempt (and other exams also) or other than him, some other aspirants also doing this with their help or individually? Who are all involved in this?
These are the questions that need to be investigated?
He is not honest officer and framed in this, then their is no question of anything supporting his criminal activity.

2014 was his 3rd attempt (as per reports). He got 112th rank, OBC, reportedly preferred IPS over IAS.

Even before clearing he was running coaching institutes! Meeting Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi and sharing pictures in FB!!

Ok after cleared 2014 attempt, while going through two phases of training he attending 2016 again... to get IAS.

How he suddenly became dumb and decided he need to cheat to get those few marks extra?

If he failed in one or two attempts again and then decided to cheat it may be logical. But he cheating immediately after a successful attempt!

Only logical explanation is he must using this same technique many times, so it's just normal for him to follow same method one more time.

If this is not correct, then only remaining possibility is he doing this for mass cheating.

Like his main purpose is sending question paper (using Bluetooth spy camera), then their associates help other cheating candidates (who need only Bluetooth earpiece).

Because if they offer to help some aspirants to cheat, they cant ask themselves to send question paper, they might fail or get caught or waste time. This is common modus operandi of cheating in medical entrance exams. One person attend exams just to send questions during exams.

Finally, we should not balme our IPS officer! He gave enough clue for others.

“Civil services is like a video game,” Karim had told a Malayalam daily when he cracked the IPS exam in 2014 after two unsuccessful attempts. He suggests that it is easy to crack the exam once you get to know the “way” and “technique”.
(His coaching advt also tells he has some secret recipe to clear!)

He was running a racket and didn't pay somebody who ratted on him leading to him being caught. Was he the only one running a racket? Highly unlikely. But it's unlikely that we will ever come to know the full truth behind this
  • Yes.
Today a 'planted' news report in The Hindu

    http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/chennai/helped-husband-cheat-because-of-over-enthusiasm/article19963807.ece

‘Helped husband cheat because of over enthusiasm’

This report contains nothing valuable info but this one line reason for the cheating!
Why this hurry to conclude as this is just "over enthusiasm" of some individuals!

So most possibly related 'authorities' started to take control of the issue. Hereafter investigation ll moves on this angle only and conclude as these 3 persons only involved.

  • Here in Kolkata centre ( exam conducted in State PSC office exam hall ) , they are not even bothering to frisk us properly but won't allow us to take water bottle in because it might disturb the conduct of exam . The sheer irrationality and "chalta hai" attitude towards such a serious exam is shocking.

Yesterday sitting arrangements were changed and a new person was in the row next to me and he was openly copying and discussing the one liner questions in Hindi language paper with both the person in front of him and behind . In one instance , a lady invigilator was standing right behind us and that did nothing to deter him. After exam , I and another person went up to senior most officer and asked on what ground he refuses to let us carry water bottle but allows candidates to turn around and copy answers .

BTW if you think UPSC is incorruptible , then you are being naive . What matters is the extent of corruption and I doubt more than 5/10 candidates per year that get in via cheating . These are facts of life that we have to accept and move on .

Agree, some months back ivfound someone claimed final merit lists was made quite dubious in that be claim , 2 persons known as friends got selected by consecutive rank with almost same marks awarded towards them. ( both belongs to very elites background. Year back somewhere in north India some one broker caught w.r.t allegedl manipulating process ok alloted rank to get his clients coveted posts like both ias, ios by mere 2 crore rupees brokerage fees.
  • This guy was caught up with intelligence inputs from IB, it means that this guy has been using this method in his previous attempts or there might be bigger racket involved in this. It's also possible that this guy was helping students of his coaching class by sending scanned images of paper to his wife.

He along with 25 more people were on radar since 2015-16.He got caught, others still roaming free.
  • 1. in year 2013 mains similar case of IB tracking in Delhi came up. they allowed the person to give all papers, while monitoring calls from nearby tower, after all papers were finished, the student was arrested..

    2. Personal view only-so please no abusing- when few state's exam people frisk properly then also few students complain-like in haryana exams-belts, keys-car,home,bike , wallets, watch etc have to be removed-which are not returned after first paper-had tea on credit-god bless that tea seller

MP prelims exams in January, sweaters were asked to be removed as per one friend of mine

Upsc treats us as adults and rational beings, assuming we might not go to extreme of carrying out such inappropriate behavior.
  • Yes if all are morally good it's ok to go lenient.
But few crooks go to any extent. Now it's clear UPSC is not something beyond this. No other way than checking everyone 'properly'.
Entire UPSC image is now tainted. Before people consider UPSC exam as sacred like, don't doubt it's credibility. Now all regional news media spread this news, everyone started to think these kinds of fraud happening in UPSC also.

Uvare late bro, this is old news. Deputy commisionet ofbchrnnai led tram went to Kerala to get behind the culprits. Possibly many people could have cheated since 14 . He may too use this cheatin technique in previous selection too. Coincidentally upsc try to cover up this all under their carpet..no matter what each year affluent powerful ones finds a way to get favour in lists.
  • Sad, the baby girl has to go through all this shit. The family should take care of her. Even at such a young age when it looks like children don't understand anything, they actually understand trauma and it can scar them for life. They can actually perceive if things are not all right around them n tend to remember it.

  • Cheating was happening earlier too.I don't want to take names but some top class UP cadre officers were doing it during paper in upsc hall.
One of my friend got fake PH certificate n is now IFS
MY FRIENDS BROTHER CHEATED IN ENGLISH QUALIFYING PAPER ,OTHERWISE HE WON'T HV PASSED THE EXAM.
There are many overheard communications buthrough I quoted only the facts I have come across.
  • I do agree that cheating and malpractices have been used by many successful candidates. In 90's one clerk at UPSC changed his answer sheets and got AIR 3. Later due to not giving money to an aide who helped him in his endeavors, that aide tipped off the secret to few officers and subsequently authorities caught the culprit. Besides during my days of preparation @ Nehru Vihar I personally met a guy who had exhausted his attempts, got a fake High School Marksheet altering (lowering) his age and after two attempts he got rank into 30's. I know the name of the guy but can't reveal. Apart from that I know many other guys who cleared the exam by means of cheating and who were well known to some of my close friends. So overall this exam doesn't guarantee you the success even if you are talented and hard working. But if you can beat the system (read UPSC) then you are smart and you can get the breakthrough.
  • PS: I am not advocating that cheating is good. It never can be. I have merely presented the facts which are known to me. In any scenario clearing the exam by wrong means is way too inferior to not clearing it at all by hard work and honesty.

If you are reluctant to name and shame such criminals, you are just as guilty and you should ideally be tried for abetting a crime ( you kept mum when you knew about the nefarious intentions of the perpetrators). Just think for a moment, people give it their all, sell off properties to go to Delhi to prepare, and then some people use "smart methods" to "beat the system" and eat away seats of deserving candidates. Instead of writing anonymously on a public forum, you should have written about this to the authorities and DOPT anonymously.

This exam teaches us this precisely doesnt it, to raise voice against injustice.
    You'll float too!
